Golden State Warriors Sign Nemanja Nedovic to Contract

The Golden State Warriors have signed guard Nemanja Nedovic, who was selected with the 30th overall pick in the first round of the 2013 NBA Draft, to a contract, the team announced. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.

The Warriors acquired Nedovic’s draft rights from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for the draft rights to the 29th pick in this year’s draft (Archie Goodwin) and guard Malcolm Lee, both of whom Golden State had acquired earlier in the draft. Nedovic is currently with the Warriors Summer League squad in Las Vegas and is expected to play in the team’s game on Saturday, July 13, before returning to Serbia to fulfill commitments with his National Team. The Warriors anticipate that Nedovic will join the team at training camp, which is scheduled to begin on September 29.

Nedovic, 22, has played professionally in Europe for four seasons, most recently with Lithuanian club Lietuvos rytas in the country’s top league (Lithuanian A League), where he posted averages of 11.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 18 games. In 10 Euroleague contests with Lietuvos rytas this season, he averaged 9.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists.

Prior to playing in Lithuania, the 6’3” guard played three professional seasons in Serbia with Crvena Zvezda. A native of Nova Varos, Serbia, Nedovic has represented Serbia in junior national team competition at: the 2011 U20 Euros (19.6 ppg, 3.8 apg, .467 3FG%); 2010 U20 Euros (10.9 ppg, 3.6 apg); 2009 U20 Euros (3.7 ppg).
