Warriors Earn Pivotal Road Win in Dallas

Warriors Secure Head-to-Head Tiebreaker over Mavericks

After Wednesday's 127-125 victory over the Dallas Mavericks, the Warriors have won consecutive road games for just the second time this season.

The Warriors had a plethora of contributors, with six players scoring in double-figures and three more players with nine points. Jonathan Kuminga led the Dubs with 22 points on 9-for-11 shooting. With the game hanging in the balance, Draymond Green and Stephen Curry had critical baskets and Green made multiple clutch defensive plays down the stretch.

Kuminga Productive Early and Often
As soon as he checked into the game, Jonathan Kuminga guarded Mavericks' superstar Luka Doncic. He did a great job of making Doncic work for every basket and encouraging him to settle for stepback 3-pointers. Late in the first quarter, Kuminga picked up the Mavericks guard fullcourt. Along with Jordan Poole, the second-year forward trapped Doncic, using the sideline as a third defender. Kuminga then took the ball from Doncic, went coast to coast, and finished with the two-hand slam. In the second quarter, Kuminga again stole the ball from Doncic and hammered down another thunderous dunk in transition. He had 14 of his team-high 22 points in the first half. The second-year forward also showcased his range Wednesday, knocking down 2-of-3 3-pointers.

Draymond Green's Imprints All Over
Despite picking up his third foul four minutes into the second quarter, Draymond Green was determined to remain aggressive. With a tie score early in the third period, Green drove right at Mavericks' defender Maxi Kleber, bumped his chest into Kleber's and finished. That set the tone for the rest of the quarter as Green scored nine of his 14 points in the third.

Down the stretch, Draymond Green made countless clutch plays on both ends. In a tie game with 1:37 remaining, Green set a screen for Stephen Curry and rolled straight to the basket. He finished over the taller Christian Wood and drew contact, converting the 3-point play. Up by one with 12 seconds left, Green had defender Reggie Bullock sealed in the paint. Instead of demanding the basketball, Green used his inside position to free up Curry for the layup. Needing one more stop to seal the win, the former Defensive Player of the Year used his verticality to meet Luka Doncic at the rim and force the miss. Despite having five personal fouls, he tied a season-high with three steals and set a season-high with four blocks, altering plenty more shots. Wednesday marked Green's first game this season with at least three steals and blocks.

Curry and Doncic Playmaking Clinic
Stephen Curry (13) and Luka Doncic (17) both had double-digit assists, including some spectacular dimes. Five of Curry's assists set up teammates for open layups or dunks, including a fullcourt pass that Jordan Poole caught like an NFL wide receiver and finished in one motion with the reverse layup. Curry recorded his seventh game this season with at least 10 assists and finished two shy of his season-high 15 dimes against the Rockets on Nov. 20. Luka Doncic recorded a season-high with 17 assists on Wednesday.
