LAST TIME OUT
The Warriors scored their fewest points in a home game this season with 96 points in Sunday’s narrow 99-96 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. With 16 seconds remaining and a one-point lead, Kyle Anderson stole Draymond’s Green pass and kicked the ball to sharpshooter Karl-Anthony Towns, who hit the go-ahead 3-pointer. RETURN OF GPII
On Sunday, Gary Payton II, who the Warriors reacquired at the trade deadline, played his first game for the Dubs this season. With 26 seconds remaining in the first quarter against the Timberwolves, Payton entered the game, greeted with a standing ovation. The already loud Chase Center crowd got even louder to show their appreciation and gratitude that the defensive-minded guard was back in the Bay. Payton scored nine points on 3-for-4 shooting and had an athletic help-side block on Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns.

“He did a great job,” Steve Kerr said when assessing Payton’s performance. “He looked good physically and he made some big plays for us. Gary was great.”

NEW ORLEANS SCOUTING REPORT
Locked into a competitive battle for seeding in the Western Conference, the New Orleans Pelicans are getting hot at the right time, winning their past five games. Brandon Ingram scored at least 29 points in his last four games and recorded his first career triple-double against the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday. Ingram was named Western Conference Player of the Week for his efforts.

The Pelicans, currently in eighth place in the West, have the fourth most difficult remaining schedule, facing five Western Conference teams currently top-six in the conference standings.
