The NBA Champion Golden State Warriors and American Express today announced a multi-year partnership where American Express will be the Official Card of the team, in addition to joining the Warriors Gold Alliance group, a partnership comprised of key sponsors. The Warriors and American Express will work together to deliver excitement and value for Warriors fans, American Express Card Members and merchants. American Express will also leverage their strong relationships with merchants to deliver unique experiences for Warriors fans -- bringing them closer to their favorite team throughout the NBA season.
“Adding American Express to our line-up of Gold Alliance partners is a great way for us to continue to engage with our tremendous fan base and give the best fans in the NBA additional benefits and opportunities for supporting us day in and day out,” said Rick Welts, Warriors President and Chief Operating Officer. “We are always looking to partner with best of brand companies like American Express and look forward to the opportunities this partnership will bring to the Warriors, American Express and our fans.”
“The Warriors have proven to be a winning organization that is backed by one of the most passionate and loyal fan bases in the NBA,” said Anré Williams, President, Global Merchant Services, American Express. “By partnering with the Warriors, we have the unique chance to help deliver new and exciting ways for Warriors fans, Card Members and merchants to support their favorite team as they defend their championship.”
American Express joins current Gold Alliance partners City National Bank, Ignite Farm, Kaiser Permanente, The Clorox Company and naming rights partner Oracle.
