Major will be in uniform for the Warriors tonight in L.A.
The Golden State Warriors have signed forward Renaldo Major of the NBA Development League to a 10-day contract, Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Mullin announced today.
In 17 games with the Dakota Wizards this season, Major is averaging 18.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.00 steals in 35.8 minutes per contest, while shooting 53.6% (104-194 FG) from the field. He currently ranks 15th in the D-League in scoring, while also fifth in steals per game. A 6-7, 190-pound third-year professional, Major went undrafted out of Fresno State in the 2004 NBA Draft. He played the last two seasons (2004-05 & 2005-06) in the CBA with the Gary Steelheads and the Sioux Falls Skyforce, while also playing for the Dodge City Legend of the USBL in the summers of 2005 and 2006.
Major is the sixth GATORADE Call-Up of the 2006-07 NBA Development League season and the 53rd player overall to be called-up to the NBA since the D-League began play in November 2001. Fellow Warrior Kelenna Azubuike was the first Call-Up of the 2006-07 season when he joined Golden State on January 2.
Major, 24, will wear uniform #12 and is set to join the Warriors for their game this evening in Los Angeles against the Clippers.
