GAME LEADERS

The Warriors opened a stretch of four games in five nights with a 112-96 win over the Pelicans on Friday night at Oracle Arena. Harrison Barnes led the Dubs with 22 points and Stephen Curry overcame a slow shooting start with 10 points during a game-changing 20-5 run in the third quarter.

Barnes picked up right where he left off on Wednesday, following up his 25-point effort with another impressive performance on 9-for-13 shooting. The third-year swingman has now scored 20-plus points in consecutive games for the first time in his career, and he has shot 20-for-26 (76.9 percent) over the last two contests.

Behind Barnes’ strong play, the Warriors built a 15-point advantage early in the third quarter, but the Pelicans rallied and cut that deficit down to five. A loss to a Pelicans team playing on the back end of a back-to-back and without its two best players would have been a giant step backward. And whether or not he knew that, Curry certainly picked a right time to leave his imprint on the game.
