The Warriors were seemingly on the verge of putting the game out of reach for the majority of the first three quarters, but the Pistons did all they could to hang around. Detroit came all the way back from a 13-point deficit in the first half and went ahead early in the fourth quarter before a fadeaway jumper from Shaun Livingston tied the game up at 81-81 with 9:08 left in the game.
That shot ignited the game-changing run, which continued with Thompson nailing a 3-pointer on the Dubs’ next possession. One of the Splash Brother’s three 3-pointers in the game, the shot gave the Warriors lead they would never relinquish. Thompson finished the game 11-for-19 from the field and has now shot 54.9 percent (28-for-51) over the last three games after enduring a shooting slump over multiple weeks.

Thompson was one of six Warriors players to score in double figures, as Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala each had 13 points, and both Andrew Bogut and Marreese Speights added 12 points apiece in the victory. The Dubs shot 52.4 percent from the field and Stephen Curry was pretty much the only Warrior with a rough shooting night (4-for-15), but he made up for it in other ways and tallied a game-high 11 assists.
With the win, the Warriors equal last season’s win total, and they’ll look to surpass it on Friday when they visit the Nuggets before coming back home on Saturday to close out the back-to-back against the Knicks.
