Anthony Bennett is playing for Team Canada this summer as it competes in the Mexico 2015 FIBA Americas Championship. He’s already got two double-doubles, helping Canada take the Tuto Marchand Cup.

What is the Tuto Marchand Cup you ask? We are glad you asked.

It’s an international warm-up tournament for the FIBA Americas.  The five teams that compete in the Cup are Canada, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Dominican Republic and Argentina.

Here’s how the 2013 No. 1 pick performed in the first four games:

August 23, 2015

Canada 85, Argentina 80

In this close win over Argentina, Bennett was big, finishing with a 10-point, 13-rebound double-double. He also added an assist, steal and block. He was 4-of-9 from the field, 0-of-2 from the three-point line and 2-of-3 from the free-throw line.

August 24, 2015

Canada 80, Brazil 64

In just 15 minutes, Bennett managed to score 16 points. He shot an almost-perfect 6-of-7 from the field, 2-of-2 from the three-point line and 2-of-2 from the free-throw line. He also added two rebounds and a block.

August 25, 2015

Canada 86, Dominican Republic 74

In this double-digit win, Bennett again had a double-double, finishing with 12 points, 10 rebounds and an assist. He wasn’t all that efficient, though, shooting 5-of-14 from the field, 0-of-2 from deep and 2-of-5 from the free-throw line.

August 26, 2015

Canada 78, Puerto Rico 72

In the final game of the Marchand Cup, Bennett finished with eight points, five rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes. He shot 3-of-9 from the field, 0-of-2 from the three-point line and 2-of-5 from the free-throw line.

Average stats over four games: 23.75 MPG, 11.5 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 1 APG, 0.25 SPG, 0.5 BPG, 46.1 FT% (18-of-39), 25 3P% (2-of-8), 53.3 FT% (8-of-15)

Bennett seems to be rebounding the ball better than he has in a while. It is still a concern, though, that Bennett is launching so many three-pointers. That’s something that landed him in head coach Flip Saunders’ doghouse last season.

Canada will face Argentina to open preliminary play on Tuesday. Make sure to check out Timberwolves.com to see if Bennett finished with another double-double.
