Timberwolves Waive Igor Rakocevic

May 6, 2003 — Timberwolves Vice President of Basketball Operations/General Manager Kevin McHale today announced the team has waived guard Igor Rakocevic.

Rakocevic, who was selected by Minnesota in the second round (51st overall) of the 2000 NBA Draft, averaged 1.9 points and 5.8 minutes per game as a rookie this season.

Rakocevic posted season highs with three assists in 17 minutes on Jan. 17 at Golden State. He had a season-high nine points Jan. 7 at Houston. Rakocevic played his first NBA game on Nov. 1 vs. Orlando and played in 42 games during the 2002-03 regular season.
