Imagine paying as little as $1 per game for Minnesota Timberwolves' season tickets during the 2008-09 NBA season. As of today, Timberwolves fans may just receive that chance. The Timberwolves have introduced the team's "Pay the Pick" promotion, providing Wolves fans the opportunity to purchase season tickets for the price of the team's draft position.
With the team's new "Pay the Pick" promotion, fans could pay as little as $1 per game ($43 for season tickets) for the entire 2008-09 NBA season, depending on the team's lottery fortunes. The price fans will pay per game will match the team's draft pick number, which will be determined at the NBA Draft Lottery on May 20. With the No. 1 selection, fans will be able to purchase tickets for $1 ($43 season tickets), with the No. 2 pick fans may buy $2 tickets ($86 season tickets), etc. The price is based on 43 home games at Target Center (41 regular season and 2 preseason).
"With the 2007-08 season coming to a close and as we turn our attention to the future, we want to reward our Wolves fans with a unique and exciting opportunity," said Timberwolves president Chris Wright. "As we continue to build our young team, we realize how much our fans are anticipating the upcoming NBA Draft and the Draft Lottery. Through our "Pay the Pick" promotion, we hope to kick start an exciting offseason for Timberwolves fans."
The "Pay the Pick" promotion will culminate with the 2008 NBA Draft Lottery Party to be held at NBA City Restaurant in Target Center. Following the Draft Lottery Party, fans will have the opportunity to meet with Timberwolves basketball personnel. In order to capitalize on the "Pay the Pick" promotion, fans need to put down a $43 deposit (non refundable) before the draft lottery on May 20. This offer is limited to the first 500 fans to place a deposit, with a limit of 10 tickets per person, and is valid for select sections in Target Center.
