Minnesota Timberwolves Sign 15 New Honorary Players to Create ‘Jr. Pack’

Minneapolis/St. Paul – The Minnesota Timberwolvesin partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities, today announced the signing of 15 new honorary members to their roster to create the 2019-20 Jr. Pack. The members, all hailing from the Twin Cities, include Alex, Damarion, Don, Javell, Jayden, Jeremiah H., Jeremiah J.Kajon, Kamron, Lyfe, Marvin, Melaki, Raquan, TJ and ViShon. 

Each new member was introduced in a press conference by Timberwolves Head Coach Ryan Saunders before signing their one-day contracts. The Jr. Pack members, all ages 9-13, were thenpaired with a Timberwolves player for today’s practice. Karl-Anthony Towns (Kajon), Andrew Wiggins (Marvin) and Robert Covington (Kamron), along with the rest of the 2019-20 Timberwolves roster, spent one-on-one time with their new teammates then ran through skills drills before theJr. Pack enjoyed lunch with their families and friends in the Owner’s Suite at the Courts at Mayo Clinic Square

“Jr. Pack was an amazing opportunity for our team to partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters, a remarkable nonprofit providing valuable mentorship to youth in our community,” said Timberwolves Vice President of Social Responsibility Jennifer Ridgeway. “We are committed to providing impactful community experiences and our coaching staff and players were thrilled to champion and celebrate these young men.”

Through the Jr. Pack, the Minnesota Timberwolves work to build confidence and a passion for the game, while providing guidance and mentorship to its members during the 2019-20 season. The Jr. Pack will also be honored on court pregame tomorrow, November 10, before the team takes on the Denver Nuggets at 2:30 p.m.  

Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities mentors were given the opportunity to nominate their little through an application process that included descriptions of why each player should be chosen for the Jr. Packand why they are passionate about the Minnesota Timberwolves and basketball.
