Timberwolves Game Stories 2007-08

We kept track of our articles from just about every Wolves home game and selected road games, and game summaries/box scores for the rest for the entire 2007-08 season.

Wolves vs. Milwaukee -- April 16
The Timberwolves finished the 2007-08 campaign with a 110-101 overtime win over Milwaukee, thanks to Randy Foye's 10 OT points that completed a career-high 32-point night.

Wolves @ Detroit -- April 15
The Wolves couldn't catch the Pistons in their final road game of the season, dropping a 115-103 decision despite 30 points and nine rebounds from Al Jefferson, and 14 points, nine boards and six assists from Ryan Gomes.

Wolves @ Memphis -- April 12
The Timberwolves dominated the Grizzlies 114-105 on Saturday to earn their second straight road win. Rashad McCants scored 23 points, Kirk Snyder added 22 and four T-Wolves finished with double-digit rebounds.

Wolves @ Orlando -- April 11
Minnesota took its first lead on a pair of free throws from Ryan Gomes with 2.9 seconds remaining and held on for a 102-101 win over Orlando on Friday night. Al Jefferson had 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Wolves vs. New Orleans -- April 9
The New Orleans Hornets retained prime Western Conference standing with a 122-90 win over the Wolves Wednesday night at Target Center behind 19 points and 16 assists from Chris Paul.

Wolves @ Charlotte -- April 8
Behind Jason Richardson's 36 points and some good fortune down the stretch, the Bobcats overcame their near collapse and a big night from Al Jefferson to hold off the Timberwolves, 121-119.

Wolves vs. Memphis -- April 6
Minnesota got a terrific effort from its bench in Sunday's game against Memphis, but couldn't collectively slow Mike Miller and Rudy Gay, resulting in a 113-101 loss at Target Center.

Wolves @ Phoenix -- April 4
Steve Nash had 14 points and 11 assists, then sat out the final quarter Friday night while the Suns completed a 117-88 rout of the Timberwolves.

Wolves @ Jazz -- April 2
The Timberwolves were within three at the half on Wednesday, but fell behind in the third quarter on the way to a 117-100 loss to the Utah Jazz. Marko Jaric led the way with 18 points and eight assists.

Wolves vs. Detroit -- April 1
The Wolves led Detroit throughout Tuesday night's contest at Target Center -- until the final minute. We spoke to advance scout Brent Haskins after the game for a complete breakdown of the 94-90 loss.

Wolves vs. Utah -- March 30
Six Wolves scored in double figures, including 20 points from Al Jefferson and 17 from Ryan Gomes, en route to Minnesota's win over Utah Sunday afternoon at Target Center.

Wolves @ Spurs -- March 28
The San Antonio Spurs played well against the Minnesota Timberwolves for three quarters. Manu Ginobili is just glad that one of those was the fourth. The Spurs' super-sub scored 16 of his 26 points in the final period to lead his team to a 99-84 victory Friday night and their sixth straight win.

Wolves @ Rockets -- March 26
McGrady scored 10 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter and Scola had 18 points and a career-high 18 rebounds in the Rockets' 97-86 victory Wednesday night.

Wolves vs. Knicks -- March 22
The Wolves put New York away early with a 42-point first quarter, winning 114-99 in a game that was never close. Ryan Gomes scored 26 points and Rashad McCants added 24 off the bench.

Wolves @ Pacers -- March 21
Rashad McCants led with 22 points and six assists, but the Wolves came up short in Friday's 124-113 road loss to the Pacers. Randy Foye added 16 points and six assists as seven Minnesota players finished in double figures.

Wolves vs. Grizzlies -- March 19
In a tale of two halves, Minnesota erased a 14-point deficit at halftime and raced to a 98-94 victory Wednesday evening at Target Center. Al Jefferson was huge with 29 points and 13 boards.

Wolves vs. Clippers -- March 17
The Wolves beat the L.A. Clippers for the third-straight time this season Monday at Target Center behind 22 and 14 from Al Jefferson.

Wolves @ Sonics, Blazers -- March 14, 15
We were in the Pacific Northwest to document the Wolves' brief two-game road stint at Seattle and Portland, respectively. Check within our travel blog for complete game blogs for both matchups.

Wolves vs. Blazers -- March 11
The Blazers emerged from Minnesota with a 103-96 win obtained late in the fourth, and much of the conversation surrounded Brandon Roy and Randy Foye. But that story line needs some time.

Wolves @ Clippers -- March 8
Al Jefferson had 30 points and 12 rebounds, Randy Foye tied a career-high with 26 points - six in the final 1:15 - as the Timberwolves rallied back from a 13-point third-quarter deficit for a 99-96 victory on Saturday night.

Wolves @ Kings -- March 7
Al Jefferson had 21 points and 13 rebounds Friday night to help the Timberwolves record a rare road win and snap a five-game losing streak with a 111-103 victory over the slumping Sacramento Kings.

Wolves @ Jazz -- March 5
The Jazz easily avoided another upset by the Timberwolves, winning 105-76 for their 17th straight home victory.

Wolves vs. Bobcats -- March 4
The Wolves and Bobcats played fairly evenly in the first three quarters of Tuesday evening’s contest at Target Center, but a late 19-6 Bobcats run propelled Charlotte to a 109-89 victory.

Wolves vs. Sonics -- March 2
The Wolves missed two potential game-tying 3-point attempts in the last 10 seconds of overtime en route to a 111-108 home loss to the Sonics on Sunday. Al Jefferson posted 30 points and 12 boards.

Wolves @ Cavs -- Feb. 29
LeBron James had 30 points and 13 assists to lead the Cavaliers to a 92-84 victory over the Timberwolves on Friday.

Wolves @ Raptors -- Feb. 27
Chris Bosh scored 28 points, T.J. Ford had 16 and the Toronto Raptors beat the Timberwolves for the eighth straight time, 107-85 on Wednesday night.

Wolves vs. Jazz -- Feb. 26
The Wolves produced one of their best sustained efforts of the 2007-08 campaign to beat a Utah Jazz team that had won 20-of-24 games heading into Tuesday's game at Target Center.

Wolves vs. Mavericks -- Feb. 24
After battling the Mavericks to a 71-all tie heading into the final quarter, the Wolves couldn't find the bottom of the net in the fourth quarter, falling 99-83 to Dallas. Al Jefferson had 22 points in the loss.

Wolves vs. Spurs -- Feb. 21
The Wolves put forth their second straight spirited effort, but fell just short of the high-powered San Antonio Spurs 100-99 Thursday night at Target Center.

Wolves vs. Sixers -- Feb. 19
The Wolves had one of their best efforts of the season, ending a five-game slide with Tuesday's 104-88 home rout of Philadelphia. Craig Smith was 1-of-7 Wolves in double figures with 11 points.

Wolves vs. Lakers -- Feb. 13
The Lakers were flying high in Minneapolis on Wednesday night, beating the Wolves 117-92 behind 29 points from Kobe Bryant and a Lamar Odom triple-double. Randy Foye had 18 points in the loss.

Wolves @ Nets -- Feb. 12
We were with the Wolves throughout a one-game road trip to New Jersey, taking you through an NBA trip from takeoff to touchdown. Included is a game blog from a 92-88 loss to the Nets.

Wolves vs. Raptors -- Feb. 10
Behind a combined 23 assists from point guards Jose Calderon and T.J. Ford, Toronto ran past the Wolves 105-82 on Sunday at Target Center. Al Jefferson had 18 points and nine rebounds.

Wolves vs. Celtics -- Feb. 8
After an inspired effort in front of an inspired crowd at Target Center Friday night, Celtics forward Leon Powe scored as time expired to allow Boston to escape with an 88-86 victory over the Wolves.

Wolves vs. Rockets -- Feb. 5
33 points and 16 boards from Al Jefferson and 12 assists with no turnovers from Sebastian Telfair weren't quite enough to earn Minnesota's fifth-straight home win, as Houston escaped 92-86.

Wolves vs. Clippers -- Feb. 1
Minnesota used a huge 45-15 second-half run to crush the Clippers 104-83 for its fourth-consecutive win at Target Center on Friday evening. Al Jefferson put up 25 and 11, and Craig Smith scored 21.

Wolves vs. Bulls -- Jan. 30
Al Jefferson scored 26 points and pulled down 20 rebounds as the Timberwolves exacted quick revenge for last night's loss to Chicago, beating the Bulls 83-67 on Wednesday night.

Wolves @ Bulls -- Jan. 29
Wolves guard Randy Foye made his season debut for the Wolves at the 4:16 mark of the first quarter Tuesday night in Chicago. We kept a log of Foye's minutes on the floor throughout the game.

Wolves vs. Nets -- Jan. 27
Al Jefferson, who posted a career-best 40 points, hit four-consecutive FTs in the final seconds to cap an outstanding Wolves fourth-quarter comeback in Sunday's 98-95 win over the Nets.

Wolves @ Celtics -- Jan. 25
The Wolves lost a heartbreaker at Boston, 87-86, despite leading throughout the fourth quarter. Former Wolf and Gopher John Thomas joined us for a live blog of all the action.

Wolves vs. Suns -- Jan. 23
Behind a career-high 39-point, 15-rebound explosion from Al Jefferson, the Wolves scorched the Phoenix Suns 117-107 on Wednesday night, completing 12 consecutive solid quarters of play.

Wolves @ Warriors -- Jan. 21
Sure, Minnesota's won just six games this year, but after watching Baron Davis's game-winning attempt rim out (not to mention Al Harrington's follow-up), it was finally time to smile for the Wolves.

Wolves @ Nuggets -- Jan. 19
Allen Iverson scored 35 points, including a fade-away jumper and two free throws in the final 30 seconds, and Carmelo Anthony added 26 as the Denver Nuggets held off the Minnesota Timberwolves 111-108 on Saturday night.

Wolves @ Suns -- Jan. 18
Amare Stoudemire scored a team-high 23 on 9-for-14 shooting Friday as the Suns burned the Timberwolves.

Wolves vs. Warriors -- Jan. 15
Minnesota scratched and clawed its way to a spirited effort Tuesday night at Target Center, but the talented Golden State Warriors had too much firepower in a 105-98 result.

Wolves @ Spurs -- Jan. 12
Tony Parker had 21 points and Tim Duncan added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Spurs, who snapped a two-game losing streak and got coach Gregg Popovich his 600th regular-season victory.

Wolves @ Rockets -- Jan. 11
Luis Scola had 22 points and nine rebounds and rookie Carl Landry had 15 points and 11 rebounds, both career highs, as the Rockets beat Minnesota 113-82 on Friday night to win for the seventh time in the nine games McGrady has missed with a left knee injury.

Wolves vs. Heat -- Jan. 8
Behind Rashad McCants' 27 points and Al Jefferson's 18, the Wolves hung on for their fifth win of the season, a 101-91 decision Tuesday night at Target Center.

Wolves vs. Mavs -- Jan. 6
On Rookie Day at Target Center, Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks were too much for Minnesota, beating the Wolves 101-78 for Dallas’ ninth win in 11 games.

Wolves vs. Nuggets -- Jan. 4
Despite a career-high 34 points from Rashad McCants, Denver beat Minnesota 118-107 on Friday at Target Center. But wait ... Here are 10 reasons why it's worth your while to watch a 4-28 team.

Wolves vs. Trail Blazers -- Jan. 2
Portland continued its winning ways with a 90-79 win at Target Center despite a game-high 29 points and 16 rebounds from the Wolves' Al Jefferson. We blogged all day.

Wolves @ Clippers -- Dec. 31
Chris Kaman had 16 points and 16 rebounds to help lead the Clippers erase an 11-point deficit and beat the hapless Minnesota Timberwolves 91-82 on Monday night.

Wolves @ Sonics -- Dec. 29
Wally Szczerbiak and rookie Jeff Green each scored 18 points, and Seattle overcame the loss of Kevin Durant to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 109-90 on Saturday night.

Wolves @ Blazers -- Dec. 28
With two fouls, Brandon Roy sat the entire second quarter Friday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Then he went on to steer the Blazers to a 109-98 victory for Portland's league-leading 12th consecutive win.

Wolves @ Warriors -- Dec. 26
This time the Warriors took a head shot at Minnesota in going up by 22, the Wolves punched back. However, the comeback fell just short in a 105-101 loss. Check out the postgame wrap right here.

Wolves @ Hornets -- Dec. 22
Paul had 19 points, 15 assists and five steals in only 30 minutes, leading the New Orleans Hornets to a 110-76 victory Saturday night.

Wolves vs. Pacers -- Dec. 21
The Timberwolves trailed by 20 points after one quarter, but offered a fierce response en route to a 131-118 home victory over the Pacers. Al Jefferson led with 29 points and 13 rebounds.

Wolves vs. Warriors -- Dec. 19
Minnesota punched first, but couldn't answer Golden State's second-half counter punch, resulting ultimately in a 111-98 Warriors win. Al Jefferson had 24 points and 14 rebounds in the loss.

Wolves @ Heat -- Dec. 17
Al Jefferson put up 22 points and 20 rebounds but the Heat pulled away in the fourth quarter to win 91-87 in Miami.

Wolves @ Bucks -- Dec. 15
Craig Smith led the way with 30 points and 10 rebounds, but the Wolves couldn't overcome Michael Redd's 32 points and seven three-pointers as they fell 95-92 in Milwaukee.

Wolves vs. Sonics -- Dec. 14
The Wolves fell 99-88 to Seattle on Friday night at Target Center despite 22 points and 16 rebounds from Al Jefferson. We blogged throughout the contest.

Wolves @ Sixers -- Dec. 12
Dalembert had 18 points, 11 rebounds and tied a career high with nine blocked shots while Andre Iguodala scored 25 points to help the Philadelphia 76ers win their season-best fourth in a row, 98-94 Wednesday night over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Wolves @ Wizards -- Dec. 11
Mason's 17 points made him one of six Wizards in double figures Tuesday night, Jamison and Butler both had double-doubles, and Washington overcame a career-high 36 points from Craig Smith to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 102-88.

Wolves vs. Suns -- Dec. 8
A fabulous all-around effort from the Wolves produced a memorable 100-93 victory over the 16-5 Suns on 70's Night. Al Jefferson had 32 and 20 in the win we covered from A-to-Z.

Wolves @ Atlanta -- Dec. 6
Corey Brewer's 18 rebounds at Atlanta were a season-high for rookies, and just two away from Dean Garrett's team rookie record. In a season-high 44 minutes, Brew added five assists and four steals.

Wolves vs. Lakers -- Dec. 4
Al Jefferson recorded a double-double and Sebastian Telfair had 16 points, but the L.A. Lakers emerged from Target Center with a 116-95 victory. Kobe Bryant scored 20 points in 29 minutes.

Wolves @ Grizzlies -- Dec. 1
Rudy Gay scored 21 points, Mike Miller added 18 points and a season-high 14 rebounds, and the Grizzlies beat the Timberwolves 109-80 on Saturday night.

Wolves vs. Spurs -- Nov. 30
A determined Wolves squad pushed the defending champion Spurs to the brink, but 31 points from Manu Ginobli and some terrific fourth-quarter defense pushed San Antonio to a 106-91 victory.

Wolves @ Mavericks -- Nov. 28
Dirk Nowitzki had 27 points and 11 rebounds, Devin Harris scored 22 points, and the Mavericks snapped a three-game losing streak with a 109-103 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night.

Wolves @ Hornets -- Nov. 26
Behind Marco Jaric's 21 points and Sebastian Telfair's 20, the Wolves earned their first road win of the season, a 103-94 decision over the New Orleans Hornets.

Wolves vs. Hawks -- Nov. 24
The Atlanta Hawks outscored the Wolves by 22 in the fourth quarter to erase a big Wolves lead and leave Minnesota with a 94-87 victory. Al Jefferson had 23 points and 16 rebounds in the loss.

Wolves @ Nuggets -- Nov. 23
Martin scored a season-high 18 points and Carmelo Anthony added 31 to lift Denver to a 99-93 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night.

Wolves vs. Cavs -- Nov. 21
There's a reason why they call him King James. Despite 30 points from Al Jefferson and an energetic Timberwolf performance, LeBron's 45 points (17 in the fourth) were too much in a 97-86 final.

Wolves vs. Hornets -- Nov. 17
Though the Wolves trailed just 42-40 at halftime, New Orleans was the better team in the second half in a 100-82 victory at Target Center. Al Jefferson had 20 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.

Wolves vs. Wizards -- Nov. 16
The Wolves held a three-point lead heading to the fourth quarter, but were unable to stay with the Wizards in a 105-89 loss on Friday. Rashad McCants led the team with 19 points.

Wolves vs. Kings -- Nov. 14
A great all-around effort from the Timberwolves produced the first victory of the season, a 108-103 result over Sacramento. Rashad McCants had career-high 33 points and Al Jefferson added 23.

Wolves @ Kings -- Nov. 10
Kevin Martin had 29 points and Brad Miller added 12 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Sacramento Kings 100-93 over the winless Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night.

Wolves @ L.A. Lakers -- Nov. 9
Kobe Bryant scored 30 points and Lamar Odom had 18 points and 10 rebounds in his season debut Friday night to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 107-93 victory over the winless Minnesota Timberwolves.

Wolves vs. Magic -- Nov. 6
The Orlando Magic rode three late bombs from Rashard Lewis to a 111-103 victory after the Wolves pulled within two at 92-90. Al Jefferson finished with 25 points and 10 boards.

Wolves @ Knicks -- Nov. 4
Jamal Crawford scored 10 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter and the New York Knicks won their home opener for the first time in six years by beating the Minnesota Timberwolves 97-93 Sunday night.

Wolves vs. Nuggets -- Nov. 2
Despite a gritty, solid all-around performance from the Wolves, Denver emerged from Target Center with a 99-91 victory. We blogged our way through the contest.
