March Memories | Hill Goes For Double-Double vs. Utah
With the NCAA Tournament in full swing, we thought we’d revisit the great run Jordan Hill and his Arizona Wildcats went on in 2009.
As a No. 12 seed on March 20, Arizona upset No. 5 Utah 84-71 in the first round and Hill led the way with 17 points, 13 rebounds, two assists and two steals. Hill shot 7-for-13 from the field and six of his rebounds came on the offensive end. It was Hill’s first NCAA win after two first-round exits during his freshman and sophomore seasons.
Former Wolves wing Chase Budinger also played for the Wildcats. He had a productive day, too, finishing with 20 points, eight rebounds, six assists, four steals and a block.
The Wildcats would advance all the way to the Sweet 16 before falling to Louisville.
Arizona is the No. 2 seed in the West Region this year and plays Xavier in the round of 16 on Thursday,
