Timberwolves.com’s Kyle Ratke did some digging on the interweb and found some of the most popular 2014 NBA Mock Drafts around. Who do the experts have the Wolves taking? Start the slideshow to find out!

F – T.J. Warren, North Carolina State Bleacher Report: Warren isn’t the most athletic prospect in the draft, but he certainly finds a way to get the ball in the basket. He is a scoring machine who can also help on the boards… Ratke’s Take: Warren is an incredibly instinctive player offensively. The guy can put the ball in the hoop from all over the court. The midrange game is a lost art in today’s game? Don’t tell Warren that. The Wolves might be looking for more of a defensive player, but if they are looking for a spark off the bench immediately, Warren could be their guy. For a small forward, he can rebound pretty well. The knock on Warren is that he doesn’t have a defined position. We’ve seen this become problematic for players trying to transition to the NBA game.

PG – Tyler Ennis, Syracuse Matt Moore, CBS Sports: Best player available. It gives them depth where they need it… Very tradeable. Ratke’s Take: We’ve heard GM Milt Newton say already that the team will be looking at the best player available. The team already has backup point guard J.J. Barea, but Barea did have a down season in 2013-14. Ennis is one of the smartest players on the court in the draft. He remains under control and doesn’t panic. Defensively he’s aggressive. He’s not the most athletic player, but if you watch clips of him, he has some “sneaky” steals because he anticipates his opponent’s next step. He could be an option if the Wolves are looking to strengthen their backcourt.

PF – Adreian Payne, Michigan State Chris Mannix, Sports Illustrated: The knock on Payne: He’s (gasp) 23 and doesn’t have as high a ceiling as some of the draft’s younger players. Still, Payne is a prototypical stretch four who makes threes (42.3 percent last season), rebounds (7.3) and runs the floor. He might have been even better last season had he not played through an undiagnosed case of mononucleosis. Zach Harper, CBS Sports: He can play either position at the 4 and 5, he can shoot from outside, and he’d help them dominate the boards Ratke’s Take: Mannix pretty much nailed it. OMG. HE’S 23. THAT’S SO OLD! Pump the brakes. That could be a positive for this team. The ceiling might not be as high as other prospects, but he’ll still be able contribute right away. Flip Saunders is buddies with MSU head coach Tom Izzo, so it’s not crazy to think Flip hasn’t at least asked Izzo about Payne. He has some crazy length (7’4 wingspan) which should make him an above-average defender at the next level. Plus, he’s a PF who can shoot from outside. Minnesota has learned can be pretty darn effective offensively.

SG – Rodney Hood, Duke Gary Parrish, CBS Sports: Hood spent his one season at Duke totally overshadowed by Parker. But the Mississippi State transfer developed into a reliable shooter on the wing, shooting 42 percent from 3-point range. Ratke’s Take: Hood is an interesting prospect. We didn’t see a whole lot of him at Duke because we were busy watching Parker. Hood is an athletic wing and offense is his thing. He can straight up shoot, but Minnesota didn’t exactly have a tough time scoring the ball last season. Defense is something the team is looking to improve on and that’s something that Hood has to improve as well. Could be a fun spark plug off the bench.

SF/PF – Dario Saric, Croatia USA Today: His highly polished skill set may be a better fit for Europe, however his toughness and feel for the game gives him some intrigue for the NBA. What he lacks for in speed and athleticism he makes up for in skill level and desire. Saric was a point guard as a youth, and retains a tremendous feel and the vision and passing to create for others. Ratke’s Take: You might remember Saric from the 2013 NBA Draft. He was supposed to be a lottery pick, but he backed out at the last minute. Saric has another year of playing overseas under his belt. At 6’10, he’s a matchup nightmare. He can play both the 3 and the 4 and he has the ball handling and passing ability of a point guard. He needs to work a bit on his shooting and he’s not going to blow anyone away with his athleticism. A very intriguing prospect. Has a lot of tools to work with. Reminds me a bit of Lamar Odom later in his career with the Lakers.

SG – Nik Stauskas, Michigan Draft Express: While his draft stock has undoubtedly increased substantially as the year has moved on, concerns still exist among scouts regarding his lack of upside defensively, due to his unappealing combination of poor length, average frame and mediocre lateral quickness. Ratke’s Take: When it comes to pure shooting, Stauskas and Doug McDermott are the best in the draft. I’m not sure how he’ll do off the dribble, but when it comes to catch-and-shoot opportunities, he’s one of the best. He lacks speed, so the biggest question is whether or not he’ll be able to adjust to the NBA on both sides of the ball.
