20th Annual Taste of the Timberwolves Event Set for March 5 at Target Center

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation is hosting the 20th annual Taste of the Timberwolves on Thursday, March 5 from 6-9 p.m. at Target Center. The fundraising gala offers guests an opportunity to interact with the entire Wolves roster, sample a variety of local cuisine and enjoy live entertainment, all while supporting community programs that positively impact youth from around the Upper Midwest.

The evening begins with Wolves players mingling with and serving attendees food from a variety of area restaurants. Taste attendees also have the opportunity to participate in the event’s silent and live auctions for a chance to take home unique sports memorabilia and win one-of-a-kind Wolves experiences including:

-     Take a player to school – student and up to four guests will ride to school with a Wolves player in a chauffeured limo.

-     Road trip with the team – trip for two with the Timberwolves on March 26-29 as the team travels for away games in Houston and New Orleans. Package includes flight on the team charter, accommodations at team hotel and two lower level tickets to each game.

-     NBA All-Star 2016 experience in Toronto – trip for two to the NBA All-Star weekend’s festivities in Toronto in February 2016. Includes round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations for three nights.

Following the tasting, a live program is held, which will include a first-hand look at the work the FastBreak Foundation is doing in the community and how their support is changing the lives of Minnesota youth. For its 20th year, the event’s live program features entertainment from comedian Louie Anderson who will host a Family Feud game with select players.

KARE 11 lead anchor Julie Nelson will serve as the emcee for this year’s event. One of the enhanced features this year will be a focus on the Foundation’s major community events including on-stage interviews with players and the individuals directly impacted from the programs.

Funds raised at Taste provide funding for the FastBreak Foundation’s annual programming and events, which aim to provide and support hand-on programs that positively impact Minnesota youth. Over the past 19 years, the event has raised more than $4 million for the FastBreak Foundation’s youth outreach.
