Carmelo Anthony backed down Raymond Felton into the paint with two hard dribbles, spun, and splashed a short fadeaway jumper. Paul George gave Daniel Hamilton no breathing room on a drive baseline, and deflected a floater attempt. Jerami Grant knocked down a jumper right in Anthony’s grill.
Maximizing Time Before Season Opener - Oct. 16
After a well-deserved day off on Sunday, the Thunder got back to work with a light practice session on Monday. The team is gearing itself up for two more days of full speed action at U.S. Cellular Thunder Training Camp prior to Thursday night’s regular season opener at Chesapeake Energy Arena against the New York Knicks.
Making the Defense Dictate the Action - Oct. 14
In the Thunder’s first preseason game of 2017-18, the Houston Rockets scored only 18 points in the paint, on just 23 shot attempts. For reference, the Rockets averaged 46.7 points in the paint per game last season.
Getting Ready for Regular Season - Oct. 13
At the beginning of every day at U.S. Cellular Thunder Training camp, Head Coach Billy Donovan meets with the Thunder’s medical personnel to get a reading on the workload that the team, and each player, can do that day in practice. It’s science, helping keep these athletes in tip top shape and away from over-exercise.

If there’s one thing that just emanates off the court and oozes out of the television screen about Carmelo Anthony, it’s the pure, unbridled love he has for the game of basketball. For those crucial moments in a game. For seeing the ball splash through the net over a helpless defender.
Thunder Gets Preseason Finale Win - Oct. 10
The Denver Nuggets cut the Thunder’s lead to just one with 6:37 to go in the fourth quarter when Head Coach Billy Donovan called a timeout. When his team emerged from the huddle, it ripped off six straight possessions of three-points apiece, including five three-pointers. It was a devastating display of the Thunder’s offensive firepower, and just how explosive this team can be when it gets the chemistry flowing.

All of the Thunder players and coaches have experienced, in some form, the gradual process that it takes to make an adjustment that ensures a roster full of individuals into a cohesive unit.
Thunder Tops Melbourne United - Oct. 8
Andre Roberson chased down a driver who was barreling down the lane. On his watch, it’s hard to get a shot off. After his fellow wing swatted the ball away, Carmelo Anthony picked it up, and pitched it up the sideline to Russell Westbrook.
Communication Leading to Gradual Cohesion - Oct. 7
Coaching in today’s NBA isn’t just diagramming plays, calling timeouts and deciding when to substitute. As the game has evolved, it’s turned more and more into a players’ league, and fortunately for the Thunder, Head Coach Billy Donovan is experienced in dealing with player turnover and fostering an environment of selflessness amongst highly competitive, and starkly different, personalities.
Thunder Wins Home Preseason Debut - Oct. 7
For the first time, Chesapeake Energy Arena had a chance to shower the team with their adoration – for Russell Westbrook who committed long-term to the team, to the newcomers Paul George and Carmelo Anthony, to crucial glue guys Steven Adams and Andre Roberson, and Nick Collison, Mr. Thunder.
Preseason Opener in Tulsa - Oct. 3
The Thunder’s first preseason game in the state of Oklahoma was held at the BOK Center in Tulsa against the Houston Rockets. Tonight the Thunder was back in the building, celebrating the start of its 10th season of NBA basketball against the same opponent.
Veteran Felton Making Impact with Younger Guards - Oct. 2
Felton says he understands why Westbrook would plant his flag long term in Oklahoma City. It’s a family atmosphere and environment in the city.

On Sunday afternoon, prior to the 10th Annual Blue and White Scrimmage, the organization hosted ThunderFest with Russ, a joyous celebration of the Thunder point guard’s commitment to the team long-term.

Day Four - Sept. 30
Carmelo Anthony was on his way to George’s house when his phone started blowing up. Billy Donovan was sitting at his desk, when all the sudden Russell Westbrook flashed a thumbs up sign through his door.
Day Three - Sept. 28
Coming into the NBA, Thunder Head Coach Billy Donovan said his intention was to put in an offensive system that relies on moving the ball, creating advantages and attacking with the pass. So far in U.S. Cellular Thunder Training Camp, feels that he’s getting his wish.
Day Two - Sept. 27
Just two practices into U.S. Cellular Thunder Training Camp, and incoming veterans like Paul George, Carmelo Anthony, Patrick Patterson and Raymond Felton are already taking ownership of their roles on the team.

A flurry of summer activity by General Manager and Executive Vice President Sam Presti and his staff swept in a veteran, talented cast of characters into Oklahoma City for the 2017-18 season.
