Valentine's Day, Thunder Style

“Before the Thunder came to town, you couldn't have paid me to watch a pro basketball game,” said Nina Brewsaugh. “Nothing against NBA basketball, but I would have rather watched a good high school game.”

Then she and her husband, Carl, went to a Thunder game at the Ford Center. That’s all it took for the couple to fall, and fall hard, for the Thunder. They caught every game on TV, while an array of Thunder gear – shirts, signs, stickers and the like – began to accumulate in their Yukon, OK, home.

By the time Valentine’s Day rolled around, the Brewsaughs had become thoroughly smitten.

Carl gave his wife a Thunder basketball.

“I bet I'm the only woman in Oklahoma who got that for Valentine's Day,” Nina said.

Not that she’s complaining.

“I have become almost a bigger fan than my husband,” Nina said. “He tells people that the Thunder team has two coaches: Scott Brooks and Nina. I get somewhat verbal from my living room recliner.”

Nina and Carl are among the hardcore Thunder fans you’ll find on the online, interactive community that is THUNDERALLY.
