Steven Adams Named to All-Rookie Second Team

OKLAHOMA CITY, May 22, 2014 – Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams was named to the All-Rookie Second Team for the 2013-14 season, it was announced earlier today by the NBA.

This past season, Adams appeared in 81 games (20 starts) for Oklahoma City and averaged 3.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and .70 blocks in 14.8 minutes.

Adams, the first New Zealand native taken in the first round of the NBA Draft, was named to the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge as part of All-Star Weekend. On Nov. 8 at Detroit, Adams posted 17 points and 10 rebounds to become the first Thunder rookie to record a double-double since Serge Ibaka in 2010.

The voting panel for the All-Rookie Teams consisted of 125 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada who were asked to select five players for the first team and five players for the second team, regardless of position. Two points were awarded for first team votes and one for second team votes.
