Jalen Williams Named to All-Rookie First Team

OKLAHOMA CITY, May 8, 2023 – Oklahoma City Thunder guard Jalen Williams has been named to the 2022-23 NBA All-Rookie First Team, it was announced today by the NBA.

Williams is just the second Thunder player to earn NBA All-Rookie First Team honors and the fifth Thunder player overall to be named to an All-Rookie team.

This season Williams appeared in 75 games (62 starts) and averaged 14.1 points on 52.1% shooting, 4.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.37 steals in 30.3 minutes per game. Among rookies, his steals led the league, while his points, assists and field goal percentage each ranked fourth.

The Santa Clara product scored 20-plus points in 17 games this season, second most by a rookie in Thunder history. He scored at least 15 points in 10 straight games, the second-longest streak by a rookie this season, and scored in double digits in 15 of his last 18 games.

Williams was awarded Western Conference Rookie of the Month twice this season, for games played in October/November and March/April, becoming the third Thunder player to earn multiple Rookie of the Month honors. He also became the 13th Thunder player named to a Rising Stars team at the 72nd NBA All-Star Weekend.
