Michael J. Wolf is the former president and chief operating officer of MTV Networks (MTVN), where he was responsible for leading all global business and technology operations for the $7 billion cable programming and Internet company.

Prior to joining MTVN in 2005, Wolf was the managing partner of McKinsey & Companyís global media, entertainment and information practice, and served as the top strategist to the senior executives. Previously, Wolf was a senior partner and member of the executive committee of Booz Allen Hamilton, where he led the firmís communications, media and technology practice. Over the years, his clients have included the senior executives of NewsCorp, Google, Amazon, Comcast and Sony.

Wolf has spent much of his time working with technology pioneers, helping them expand their business and grow into large companies while allowing them to focus on innovation. Wolf is a board member of, the largest developer of third-party applications for Facebook;, a digital marketplace for expert-generated video; Entercom; and the Educational Broadcasting Corporation. Additionally, Wolf is the author of The Entertainment Economy: How Mega-Media Forces Are Transforming Our Lives.
