Phoenix Suns Reveal "PHXRising" Alternate Home Uniform
Today the Phoenix Suns revealed a new look with a historic twist, one that celebrates an iconic Suns uniform of the past and represents the pride that Phoenicians feel towards our great city. The new uniform, deemed PHXRising, was revealed this morning through the Suns social media channels. Media can download the reveal video at the following link:PHXRising Reveal Video
The PHXRising uniform will serve as the Suns’ second alternate and be worn by the team for the first time tomorrow night (February 26) when it faces the Oklahoma City Thunder at US Airways Center. Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m.
The PHXRising collection with its gray, black and orange palette symbolizes the ash, smoke and embers of the mythological bird for which Phoenix is named. The new look integrates elements from the iconic Suns uniform introduced in 1973, including the Old West “PHOENIX” font across the front, as well as classic sunbursts on the shorts. In a modern twist, sun rays from the team’s current uniforms adorn each side of the shorts, signifying the up-tempo style of play that the Suns are known for. The Suns will wear the PHXRising uniform four times this season, including at home tomorrow night. The PHXRising jersey, along with a collection of PHXRising merchandise, is now available for purchase in the Suns Team Shop at US Airways Center. The Suns worked with the NBA, adidas and Valley-based ad agency, Fisher, to develop and design the PHXRising collection.
Tickets are still available for tomorrow night’s debut of the PHXRising jersey and can be purchased at Suns.com/tickets, or by calling 602-379-SUNS.
