Suns Celebrate Purple Roots with 2016-17 Court Design
The Phoenix Suns on Tuesday revealed the team’s 2016-17 court design, updated from last season’s look to bring back the popular purple border that framed the Suns’ playing surface from inception in 1968 through the 1999-2000 season.
The Suns’ hardwood otherwise remains the same, including last year’s re-integration of the purple lines along the three-point arc, free throw lanes, key, markers and bench area boundaries, as well as the sunburst at center court. The team’s marketing campaign, #WeArePHX, will once again don the sideline opposite the scorer’s table, with the club’s website and social media handle (@Suns) directly in front of the respective team benches.
The Suns will tip-off the 2016-17 season when they host the Sacramento Kings in the Coca-Cola Fry’s Food Stores Home Opener on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at Talking Stick Resort Arena. Single-game tickets for all Suns home games are on sale now here and by phone at 602-379-SUNS.
