SUNS SIGN TERRENCE ROSS

The Phoenix Suns today signed free agent guard/forward Terrence Ross.

Ross is in his 11th NBA season, holding career averages of 11.0 points on 41.8% shooting (36.2% from three-point range), 2.8 rebounds and 1.8 three-point field goals in 712 games with Toronto and Orlando. He has appeared in 41 career playoff games, averaging 16.4 points and 4.4 rebounds in his most recent postseason appearance with the Magic in 2020. Ross currently ranks 65th in NBA history with 1,295 career three-point makes.

The 2013 NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion, Ross has posted 90 career games of 20-plus points throughout the regular season and playoffs, including a career-high 51 points on Jan. 25, 2014 against the Clippers when he made a career-high 10 triples. He appeared in 42 games (nine starts) with the Magic this season, averaging 8.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.5 three-point field goals in 22.5 minutes of action. Ross has scored in double figures 12 times on the year, including a season-high 29 points on Oct. 22 against Boston, making five three-pointers.

Ross was initially selected with the eighth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Raptors, playing in 363 games with Toronto from 2012-2017 before being traded to Orlando on Feb. 14, 2017. Ross remains fourth in Raptors franchise history with 598 three-pointers made, and he ranks sixth in Magic franchise history with 697 three-pointers made.

A native of Portland, Oregon, Ross was a two-year standout at the University of Washington where he averaged 16.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 2.1 three-point field goals per game and earned All-Pac-12 honors in his second and final season.

Ross will wear uniform No. 8.
