PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns are encouraging fans to show their support of Planet Orange and Phoenix Suns Charities when the Arizona Department of Transportation, Motor Vehicle Division (ADOT-MVD) releases the first-ever state-issued Phoenix Suns license plate. The new plate will be available today (May 5).

Fans will have the opportunity to purchase the Suns license plate for $25, with $17 from each plate sold benefitting Phoenix Suns Charities. The Suns license plates can also be personalized for an additional $25 annual fee. Suns license plates are available online at or in person at any MVD office.

The Suns are the 10th NBA team to offer a state-issued license plate created in their name. The orange and purple Suns plate will feature the team’s primary logo in the background, with two Suns logos flanking “Phoenix Suns” across the bottom.

Phoenix Suns Charities was formed to expand the Suns mission to be a constant leader in improving the quality of life in our community. Due to the generosity of the fans and sponsors, Phoenix Suns Charities has experienced steady growth and last year distributed over one million dollars in grants to more than 80 local charities. In the 20 years since its inception, Phoenix Suns Charities has donated over eight million dollars to worthy Arizona organizations focused on youth and families.
