1 / 9The Phoenix Suns’ backcourt of Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight has it all. Not only are they one of the most dynamic duos in the game today, they’re combined stats showcases numbers that the Valley of the Sun hasn’t seen in years. Thanks to Suns Stat Guru, Cole Mickelson, click through to see why.

thumbnail-image: One of the Best Games in Years Eric Bledsoe had an outstanding all-around performance, recording 23 points, nine assists, five rebounds, four steals and a career-high-tying four blocked shots (also on Feb. 26, 2015, vs. Oklahoma City) in the Suns’ win over Minnesota on December 13. Bledsoe is the first Suns player since 1985-86 to record each of these totals in the same game and joins Kevin Durant, Dwyane Wade, Hakeem Olajuwon (three times), David Robinson, Michael Jordan (twice) and Charles Barkley as the only NBA players to do so since 1985-86 (Basketball-Reference). By having at least four each of rebounds, assists, steals and blocks, Bledsoe is the first Suns player to record a points-excluded 4-by-4 since Shawn Marion (six rebounds, four assists, four steals, four blocks) vs. Miami on Dec. 10, 2007 (Basketball-Reference). Additionally, Bledsoe is the first guard in the NBA to record such a 4-by-4 since Miami’s Dwyane Wade on Feb. 28, 2009 (Basketball-Reference). At 6-1, Bledsoe is the shortest player since 1985-86 to record a 4-by-4 excluding points with the previous shortest being the 6-3 Alvin Robertson for San Antonio on March 31, 1989 (Basketball-Reference).
thumbnail-image: Seven Triples Brandon Knight scored 25 points on 9-of-19 from the field, going 7-of-14 from beyond the arc against Minnesota. The seven three-pointers made marked a career-high for Knight (he made six three pointers three times, most recently Nov. 20, 2015, at Denver). Knight’s seven made triples are a Suns season-high and the most by a Suns player since Gerald Green (8-of-13) vs. Oklahoma City on March 6, 2014. Knight also recorded six assists, four steals, three rebounds and two blocks in the game.
thumbnail-image: First Since K.J. and Hornacek Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight each recorded at least 20 points, six assists and four steals against the Timberwolves on December 13. The last time two Suns teammates each posted at least those totals in the same game was on Nov. 27, 1991, when Kevin Johnson (22 points, 13 assists, four steals) and Jeff Hornacek (20 points, eight assists, five steals) vs. Sacramento (Basketball-Reference).
thumbnail-image: Best in the NBA? The backcourt duo of Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight is making a case for the best starting guard pairing in the NBA. Here is a look at the highest combined Player Efficiency Rating as measured by Basketball-Reference of guard teammates that both qualify for the minutes leaderboard and have started a majority of their teams’ games: Backcourt | Team | Individual PER | Combined PER Curry/Thompson | Warriors | 33.7/16.3 | 50.0 Lowry/DeRozan | Raptors | 25.0/20.0 | 45.0 Bledsoe/Knight | Suns | 22.3/18.7 | 41.0
thumbnail-image: Two of Nine Eric Bledsoe (21.9 points—11th in NBA, 6.3 assists—t-12th in NBA) and Brandon Knight (21.4 points—t-12th in NBA, 5.2 assists—25th in NBA) are two of just nine players in the league averaging at least 20.0 points and 5.0 assists this season, and the only teammates doing so. For an entire season, only four times in NBA history have two teammates averaged at least 20.0 points and 5.0 assists: Cleveland’s LeBron James and Kyrie Irving in 2014-15, Miami’s James and Dwyane Wade in 2012-13, Chicago’s Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen in 1991-92, and Boston’s John Havlicek and Jo Jo White in 1971-72 (Basketball-Reference).
thumbnail-image: 20/5/4/1.5 Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight join Toronto’s Kyle Lowry, Houston’s James Harden, Golden State’s Stephen Curry and Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook as the only NBA players averaging at least 20.0 points, 5.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game this season. Charles Barkley in his MVP season of 1992-93, Jeff Hornacek in his All-Star season of 1991-92 and Kevin Johnson in 1988-89 are the only players in Suns history to exceed these marks that both Bledsoe and Knight are achieving this season.
thumbnail-image: Most Since 2004-2005 Eric Bledsoe (16) and Brandon Knight (12) each have at least 12 games with 30+ points through 23 games this season. The last time two Suns teammates each had this many 20+ point games at this point was Amar’e Stoudemire (19) and Shawn Marion (13) in 2004-05 (Basketball-Reference).
thumbnail-image: Scoring Machines Three of Eric Bledsoe’s seven career 30+ point games have come against the Trail Blazers, including a season-high 33 points on Oct. 31 in Portland. After scoring 17 points in the fourth quarter at Chicago on Dec. 7, Brandon Knight now has three quarters scoring 17+ points this season; only Stephen Curry (8), LeBron James (3) and James Harden (3) also have at least three 17+ point quarters in the NBA this season.
