tim holt, VP and SAFC Managing Director
Tim Holt serves as Managing Director of San Antonio FC (SAFC), where he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Spurs Sports & Entertainment owned professional soccer club. Under Holt’s leadership, SAFC has become one of the consistently top performing clubs in the USL Championship and nationally recognized for its success in identifying, developing, and promoting local homegrown talent through its defined professional pathway. In addition to his work with SAFC, Holt serves on the Board of Directors of Spurs Give.
Holt arrived in San Antonio in January 2016 after a stint at Orlando City SC which he joined during its inaugural Major League Soccer (MLS) season as Vice President of Development. In Orlando, his immediate impact with the highly successful expansion team was marked by expansion of both the club and brand through the creation and launch of two new professional soccer franchises, Orlando Pride of the NWSL & Orlando City B of the USL. Holt also served as the Board President for Orlando City Youth Soccer.
Prior to his time with Orlando City, Holt served as an executive with the United Soccer League (USL) since 1999 including as its President from 2009-2015. In the previous decade, Holt served USL in the various capacities of Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and Director of Pro League Operations. Under the period of his leadership, the USL blossomed into the largest system of elite soccer leagues in North America with over 100 senior clubs and several hundred youth team members.
In addition to his full-time positions, Holt has served on the board of Directors for US Soccer, United Soccer Coaches, and the Florida Sports Foundation, and has been repeatedly recognized as a leading executive in American soccer by national publications such as Sports Illustrated and Soccer America.
As a youth player, Holt was part of the respected FC DELCO youth club in suburban Philadelphia where, upon graduationfrom Penn State University, he returned to work for the club in the mid-1990s. As a scholastic player at Radnor High School (PA), Holt still ranks amongst the school’s all-time top leading scorers and was inducted into theRadnor Soccer Hall of Famein 1993. Holt holds a USSF national coaching license and has coached at both the elite youth club and scholastic levels. Holt and his family reside inSan Antonio.
