SPURS ANNOUNCE 2016 UTAH SUMMER LEAGUE ROSTER

SAN ANTONIO (July 1, 2016)  The San Antonio Spurs today announced their roster for the 2016 Utah Jazz Summer League. The Jazz Summer League will take place from July 4-7 in Salt Lake City.
 
This year’s rosters includes Spurs forwards Kyle Anderson and Jonathon Simmons. In his second season with the Silver and Black, Anderson appeared in 78 games, averaging 4.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 16.0 minutes. In last year's Las Vegas Summer League the former UCLA Bruin was named the MVP after averaging 21.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.10 steals in 27.3 minutes over seven games, helping the Spurs win the 2015 Las Vegas Summer League Championship.
 
In his first season with the Spurs, Simmons saw action in 55 games, averaging 6.0 points and 1.7 rebounds in 14.8 minutes. In last year's Las Vegas Summer League the former Houston Cougar averaged 17.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.71 steals in 24.6 minutes. Simmons was named MVP of the championship game, finishing with a team-high 23 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in 24 minutes.
 
Several other Spurs prospects are included on the roster, including San Antonio’s 2016 first round draft pick Dejounte Murray, Cady Lalanne who San Antonio selected in the second round of the 2015 NBA draft and Erazem Lorberk who the Spurs obtained from Indiana along with the Kawhi Leonard and Davis Bertans in exchange for George Hill in a draft night trade in 2011.
 
Spurs assistant coach Will Hardy will have head coaching responsibilities in Utah.
