Spurs and USAA Honor Service Men and Women at Military Appreciation Night

The San Antonio Spurs and USAA have teamed up to recognize current and former military when the Spurs take on the Charlotte Bobcats for Military Appreciation Night on Friday, Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m. The night is a celebration of all of those who serve and have served in the United States Armed Forces, especially the men and women stationed here in San Antonio, commonly known as Military City U.S.A.

As part of a series of USAA Salute Night games, the Spurs and USAA are offering up to a 40 percent discount on tickets to active military and veterans. For more information on USAA Salute Nights or to purchase tickets, visit Spurs.com/salute.

To help make the night special for local military members and their families, USAA, Spurs season ticket members and suite holders have joined together to donate more than 1,500 tickets to Friday night’s game to military families. Those still wishing to donate tickets can do so by sending directly to the Wounded Warriors Project.

The first 5,000 fans through the doors will receive a Spurs and USAA drawstring bag and fans can take their picture with the Spurs championship trophies. Current and former military can visit the Fan Shop to receive 15 percent off of merchandise with a military ID. Additionally, discounted parking is offered for USAA members.

The Spurs will suit up in military-inspired uniforms for the second time this season as part of the adidas and NBA Pride Uniform Collection. The green, olive and sand-colored camouflage jerseys pay tribute to San Antonio’s rich history as a prominent military city and to the three currently active military installations: the Army’s Fort Sam Houston, Randolph Air Force Base and Lackland Air Force Base.

The national anthem for Military Appreciation Night will be performed by the American Military Spouses Choir. The choir, made up of husbands and wives of active-duty service members, recently competed on season eight of America’s Got Talent.

Individual game tickets will be available to purchase online at spurs.com or attcenter.com. Tickets may also be purchased at the AT&T Center Southeast Box Office Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or on weekend event days starting at noon. For more information on military nights and military discounts go to Spurs.com/salute or visit the ITT office on base.
