Spurs Select Marcus Denmon with 59th Pick in 2012 NBA Draft

SAN ANTONIO (June 29, 2012) – The San Antonio Spurs selected University of Missouri guard Marcus Denmon with the 59th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft on Thursday night.

Denmon, an Associated Press Second Team All-America selection as a senior, led the Tigers in scoring, averaging a career-high 17.7 points per game. The 6-3 guard also averaged 5.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals and scored in double figures in 30 of 35 games played, including 12 games with 20 or more points.

The Kansas City product, who helped lead his team to the 2012 Big 12 Tournament Championship, was named First Team All-Big 12 as both a junior and senior. For his collegiate career he appeared in 141 games, averaging 12.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals, while shooting .455 (597-1,311) from the field, .401 (283-705) from three-point range and .799 (298-373) from the foul line.
