SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 10, 2024) – The San Antonio Spurs today announced activations in celebration of their Friday, Jan. 12 Pride Night Game at the Frost Bank Center. This game will feature a pregame pride fest, on-court recognition of local leaders and other activations to spotlight and uplift our LGBTQIA+ community. The Spurs will host the Charlotte Hornets, with tip-off at 7 p.m. and doors opening at 6 p.m.

The Spurs are offering a special T-shirt ticket package for the game, which includes discounted ticket prices and a pride-themed T-shirt designed by local LGBTQIA+ brand FLAVNT Streetwear. T-shirt sizes will be available on a first come, first served basis. For more information and to purchase the ticket package, fans can text PRIDE to 210-444-5050.

Four community leaders will be honored in an on-court ceremony recognizing their equity and belonging work. Anel Flores, Artist and Author of “Empanada;” Donalda “Dee” L. Smith, Founding Member and Advisor of The San Antonio LGBT Chamber of Commerce; Jeff Ardnt, President & CEO of Via Metropolitan Transit and Dr. Stacy Speedlin Gonzalez, Counselor & Owner of Salient Clinical Services will all be honored for their commitment to building leaders and legacies where we live, learn, work, and play.

The contest will be televised locally on Bally Sports Southwest, preceded by Spurs Live pregame coverage at 6:30, and will no longer be broadcast on ESPN.

The Spurs home game hosting the Chicago Bulls on Saturday, Jan. 13 will now be broadcast locally on KENS 5. Game tip-off remains at 7:30 p.m. CST as previously scheduled, with the Spurs Pregame Show starting at 7.

SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 9, 2024)&nbsp;– The Rock at La Cantera today announced it will lease space to UT Health San Antonio in a medical office building to be built on the Spurs performance campus. The building is being developed by Lincoln Property Company and is expected to break ground in the first half of 2024 and will be 60,000 square feet in total. This office space is one element of the multi-year partnership between the Spurs and UT Health San Antonio, announced in September.

Under this agreement, UT Health San Antonio will lease 20,000 square feet of space within the building to be used as an outpatient care and elite research center. This development is part of the joint effort by the Spurs and UT Health San Antonio to pursue innovations in human performance and improve the health of the greater San Antonio community.

“The opportunities for research, learning and innovation within this building are endless and having a world-renowned academic medical center like UT Health San Antonio as its anchor sets a standard of excellence for all other tenants to follow,” said RC Buford, Chief Executive Officer for Spurs Sports & Entertainment. “As The Rock at La Cantera transforms in front of our eyes into the world-class human performance campus we always envisioned, we’re looking forward to the medical office building’s groundbreaking to tip-off phase two of the process.”

SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 8, 2024) –&nbsp;Pizza Hut and San Antonio Spurs player Tre Jones have once again teamed up with&nbsp;Spurs Youth Basketball League&nbsp;(SYBL) to support the league’s mission and athletes with a promotional offer. SYBL offers meaningful funding and resources for youth basketball programs across Central and South Texas while providing a safe space for youth to spend their free time. SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 16, 2023) – The Rock at La Cantera today announced it has partnered with the Jason Dady Restaurant Group to open “Roca & Martillo,” a new Tuscan-Italian inspired restaurant on the Spurs La Cantera campus. The restaurant is expected to open to the public in Spring 2024 and will be located on Frost Plaza. Roca & Martillo is the latest gastronomic venture by local executive chef Jason Dady, who has curated unique dining experiences all across San Antonio with his catering services and restaurants Jardin, Range, Tre Trattoria and Two Bros BBQ Market.

This collaboration between Chef Dady and the Spurs follows this season’s addition of Dady’s Two Bros BBQ offerings in SA Central at Frost Bank Center, the Spurs home arena. Having called San Antonio home for the past 23 years, Chef Dady will take his award-winning talents and commitment to true Texas hospitality to this new venture at The Rock at La Cantera. The name Roca & Martillo translates to “rock and hammer,” an ode to the Spurs “pounding the rock” team mantra and campus name. SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 23, 2023) –&nbsp;The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have exercised their third-year team option on forward Jeremy Sochan and guards Malaki Branham and Blake Wesley for the 2024-25 season.

Sochan is entering his second year with the Spurs after being named to the 2022-23 NBA All-Rookie Second Team last season. Playing in 56 games where he averaged 11.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 26.0 minutes, Sochan was also selected to the 2023 Rising Stars roster, making him the first Spurs rookie to be named to the team since Keldon Johnson in 2021 and the 10th in franchise history. Drafted by San Antonio in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft (ninth overall), Sochan scored in double-figures in 35 games last season – the most games in a season with 10+ points by any Spurs rookie since Gary Neal in 2010-11 (40).

Branham comes into his second season with the Silver and Black after appearing in 66 games last year and averaging 10.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 23.5 minutes. Branham led all rookies in points scored in the month of February, registering 185 total points and averaging 16.8 points per game, becoming the first Spurs rookie to score 185+ points in a single month since Neal’s 189 points in March of 2011. Branham made the most field goals (75), tied for the highest FG% (.500) and ranked second in most three-pointers made in a single month (22) amongst all rookies. Branham was selected by San Antonio in the first round (20th overall) of the 2022 NBA Draft.

Wesley&nbsp;starts his sophomore season with the Silver and Black after appearing in 37 games last year, averaging 5.0 points, 2.7 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 18.1 minutes. After being selected by San Antonio in the first round (25th overall) of the 2022 NBA Draft, the Notre Dame alum also spent time with the Austin Spurs and averaged 20.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.0 steals in 11 games. In the NBA 2K24 Summer League in Las Vegas in July, Wesley appeared in five games and averaged 12.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 29.1 minutes.

The Spurs draft class trio of 2022, featuring Sochan, Branham and Wesley, marked the first time in San Antonio franchise history that the Silver and Black made three first round picks in the same year.
