During a nine-year NBA career, Adrian Griffin has been known for his defense. Undrafted out of Seton Hall in 1996, Griffin spent three years playing in Italy before he caught on with the Boston Celtics, starting 47 games as a rookie in 1999-00. Griffin played a key role in Dallas as a defensive specialist, but saw his career derailed when he underwent microfracture knee surgery in September 2003. The injury limited him to 19 games in 2003-04, but he rebounded the following season in Chicago and started 45 games for the NBA Finals-bound 2005-06 Dallas Mavericks.
