Following a 123-111 road win over the Pistons (11-32) on Sunday afternoon, the 76ers (24-15) host Detroit for a return game on Tuesday night. Arriving at the midpoint of the NBA schedule this week, the Sixers have won 12 of their last 15 games.Six 76ers scored in double figures last time out, led by Tyrese Maxey’s 23 points and an efficient, 28-minute triple-double from 10-time All-Star James Harden: 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. Harden is the lone Eastern Conference guard with multiple triple-double performances this season (Sunday and Dec. 23 vs. LAC).“Every single guy that stepped on the floor was ready,” 76ers Head Coach Doc Rivers said. “It tells you how deep we are, and guys are buying into their roles.”Joel Embiid (left foot soreness) and P.J. Tucker (non-COVID illness) did not suit up. The Pistons played without Jalen Duren (right ankle soreness), Isaiah Livers (right shoulder sprain), and Rodney McGruder (non-COVID illness), while Cade Cunningham (left tibia stress fracture) and Marvin Bagley III (right hand metacarpal fractures) remain out as well.Tucker was upgraded to probable and Embiid was upgraded to questionable on the injury report as of Monday evening. Livers was listed as questionable on that report and Bojan Bogdanović – Detroit’s leading scorer averaging 21.0 points per game – is now out due to left calf soreness.

With a win, the Sixers will sweep the three-game season series with the Pistons. The first meeting was a 113-93 home result on Dec. 21. Both of the Pistons’ season-high turnover games were against the Sixers (23 on Sunday, 22 in Dec.).

Detroit’s Killian Hayes tied his career high with a game-high 26 points (11-17 fg, 4-8 3fg) on Sunday. Matisse Thybulle came away with a game-high five steals for the Sixers.“It was a good team win,” Tyrese Maxey said postgame. “Defense was pretty good, we moved the ball well, and I think everybody competed hard. Everybody who played tonight and stepped on the court competed at a high level.”“At this point, I think they were just passing it to him,” Maxey added about Thybulle’s steals total.

Tuesday is a 7 p.m. start in South Philadelphia.

Notable statistics from the three games that factored in were Embiid’s 43.3 points per game, 10.3 rebounds per game, and .639 field-goal percentage.The Sixers’ injury report on Monday evening included Danuel House Jr. (probable - left foot laceration) and Tyrese Maxey (out - left foot fracture). Embiid became the first player in the NBA this season to post multiple 50-point games by scoring 53 points against the Hornets on Sunday. Earlier this season, the league’s reigning scoring champ delivered a career-high 59 points against Utah.“We have a saying, ‘you’ve got to feed the hot hand,’” Embiid said postgame. “You have to keep feeding them until the defense stops them once, twice, or three times. I just kept scoring and they just kept giving me the ball.”

“He was in attack mode for the entire game,” James Harden said of Embiid. “He made scoring look easy. I mean he was just in attack mode getting to the basket, and his jumpers were falling. He just had an aggressive night tonight.”

Embiid practiced with the team on Sunday. Harden remains out.Tyrese Maxey recorded his fourth 30-point game of the season with a game-high 31 points against New York. "Tonight's a tough one,” Harris said postgame, “because I thought for the majority of the game, we did a very good job of getting that ball hopping and creating some good looks off of their help defense. And just playing at a really good pace. So, it's tough that we weren't able to come out with the victory."“For us, it’s really just figuring out ways that we can minimize some of our mistakes out there,” Harris added after Sunday’s practice. “Seeing the film, too many breakdowns defensively. 76ers Prepare to Host Suns Monday Following Unveiling of Dolph Schayes Sculpture | Gameday Report 11/82

The 76ers play their first regular season game on Tuesday night in Boston, facing the Celtics in the NBA season opener.

For the Sixers, roster depth and a team-first approach are two themes emerging from the offseason and their undefeated preseason.

"Coach Doc said something in the locker room recently: This is a we season, not a me season,” Tyrese Maxey said on Media Day. “This season's going to be all about us, as a group, as an organization. I just want us to be the best that we can possibly be."

The start of a new season brings with it excitement, intrigue, and everything in between. After 11 seasons, offseason acquisition and 2021 NBA Champion P.J. Tucker certainly knows the drill.

"It's going to be tough, and we're going to go through a lot throughout the season,” said Tucker. “But it's going to be so much better when you get to the end and you have a chance to really win it. It makes everything worth it."

The start of the 2022-23 Sixers season coincides with an energizing period of success for Philadelphia teams across the entire professional sports landscape.

“It’s awesome… It just gives the city a different energy,” 76ers Head Coach Doc Rivers said Monday. “Walking in the street, people are engaged. It’s nice.”

Now, it’s time for the Sixers to take the stage.&nbsp;

“Everybody here is focused on winning,” second-year Sixer Georges Niang said. “How can we make this team better? I think we're focused on the ‘we’ aspect of this season."

After Tuesday, the Sixers return for their home opener on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. against the Milwaukee Bucks.

“I'm probably like the mean guy on the court as far as our team [goes]. He's just so nice, man. He's just smiling. It's like, 'Tyrese, get mad one time.'

“I think he got mad in our last preseason game. He got pushed or something and they didn’t call a foul. He was pissed. I need more of that… You're not under the radar no more.”

The Celtics went 2-2 in the preseason after a 51-31 campaign last season that culminated in an NBA Finals loss (4-2) to the Golden State Warriors.

On Sept. 22, the Celtics announced a season-long suspension for Head Coach Ime Udoka due to violations of team policies. Joe Mazzulla, 34, is the Interim Head Coach.

Malcolm Brogdon (19.1 PPG) was traded from Indiana to Boston in July, and the Celtics also signed Danilo Gallinari (11.7 PPG). Boston then signed Blake Griffin on Oct. 3.

Gallinari is out, however, as the Celtics announced early last month that the 15-year veteran was diagnosed with a torn ACL in his left knee suffered while playing for Italy in a FIBA World Cup qualifier against Georgia on Aug. 27. Robert Williams (left knee arthroscopy) is also out.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown averaged 26.9 and 23.6 points per game, respectively, for the Celtics last season. Marcus Smart is the reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year.
