Malone signed with Sixers as a veteran free agent on September 2, 1982.  In five seasons with the Sixers he averaged 24.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per game, including 22.7 points and an NBA-high 15.3 rebounds during the 1982-83 Championship season.  Malone was a three-time NBA MVP, including during the 1982-83 NBA Championship season with Sixers, wherein he was also an NBA Finals MVP.  He was a 12-time NBA All-Star, including all four seasons during his first stint with Sixers from 1983-86, and six-time NBA rebounding champion, including the 1982-85 seasons with Sixers.
