PHILADELPHIA, PA – OCTOBER 28, 2015 – The Philadelphia 76ers today announced details for their Opening Night home game on Friday, October 30 at 7:00 p.m. against the Utah Jazz, presented by Independence Blue Cross.  Throughout the night, the Sixers will honor legends, Darryl Dawkins, Moses Malone, and Harvey Pollack with special tributes, including videos, interactive memory walls, uniform patches, court decals, and more.  All fans attending the game will receive a ‘Since 1776’ giveaway tee-shirt, courtesy of Independence Blue Cross.  Philadelphia native Patti Labelle will sing the National Anthem.  Sixers fans will catch their first glimpse of the Sixers new blue home uniforms and Sixers Dancers five new outfits – inspired by player jerseys.  Just days after his breathtaking rappel 418 feet down One Logan Square, Sixers mascot Franklin will make another dramatic entrance into the arena with another high flying stunt.

Individual tickets for Opening Night, as well as all single game tickets and ticket packages, are on sale now by phone at 215-339-7676, online at SIXERS.COM, and in person at the box office.

In honor of Dawkins, Malone, and Pollack, Sixers shootings shirts will bear a specially designed logo of each legend, while the Sixers new blue uniforms will carry a memorial patch.  Three courtside logo decals will adorn the Sixers court and 30 foot roll banners hanging in the Broad Street and 11th Street Atriums will further pay tribute to these Sixers Legends.  Fans may share their individual memories by writing on personalized Memory Walls positioned throughout the concourse.  Each Memory Wall will be presented to the legend’s respective families after the game.  During halftime the Sixers will dedicate the Scorer’s Table to Harvey Pollack, and famed speed painter Tim Decker will paint a canvas of Dawkins and Malone.

“This year’s opening night tributes to Darryl Dawkins, Moses Malone, and Harvey Pollack will hold special significance, not only to Sixers fans in Philadelphia, but NBA fans, and basketball enthusiasts around the world,” said Sixers CEO Scott O’Neil. “These are more than just names on a banner – this is our family: who we are, our storied past, and the inspiration for our future.  Moses Malone, a relentless rebounder with an indomitable drive.  Darryl Dawkins, a game-changing innovator and ferocious dunker.  Harvey Pollack, the father and mastermind of basketball statistics, whose name will forever be synonymous with Wilt Chamberlain’s famous ‘100’ point game and sign.  Their time with the Philadelphia 76ers transcends those minutes on the hardwood - their dedication to the fans and sport left a legacy of excellence woven into the very fabric of this city, and challenged and revolutionized the game we love.”

Fans are encouraged to wear blue to the game and arrive by 6:45 p.m. to experience the premier of the Sixers 2015-16 3D opening video – tied to the popular ‘Since 1776’ rebranding campaign. (www.SIXERS.com/Since1776)

In compliance with NBA Rules and for the safety of fans, players, and staff, all guests will pass through metal detectors at arena entrances. The Sixers encourage fans to arrive early.
