The 76ers acquired Jalen McDaniels from the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday in a four-team trade that sent Matisse Thybulle to the Portland Trail Blazers.

McDaniels, who recently turned 25 years old on Jan. 31, is in his fourth NBA season.

  • The 6-9 McDaniels spent his first three-plus NBA seasons with the Charlotte Hornets after being selected with the No. 52 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
  • As a college player, McDaniels was a two-year standout at San Diego State.
  • He played in all 67 Aztecs games (55 starts) during both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 campaigns, averaging 15.9 points and 8.3 rebounds as a senior en route to Second Team All-Mountain West honors.
