Nightly Notables: Wizards 84, Sixers 92

• With the win tonight, Philly has won six of the past seven over Washington after losing five straight from 11/24/09-11/23/10.  The Sixers have split their past eight games after losing a season-high tying five straight from 1/2-1/9.  The Wizards have lost consecutive games for the first time since a five-game stretch from 12/29-1/6.

• Washington scored 84 points tonight.  The Sixers improve to 8-1 when holding opponents below 90 points this season.  Philly has held the opposition below 90 points in two of the past three games after not doing so in any of the 11 games prior.

• Philly committed 11 turnovers tonight and is averaging 10.7 tpg over the past three games after averaging 14.8 tpg the 10 games prior.

• The Sixers outscored the Wizards 38-26 in points in the paint.  Over the past six games, Philly is outscoring opponents by an average of 8.7 points in the paint after being outscored by an average of 8.2 PIP the eight games prior.

• Jrue Holiday scored 9 of his game-high 21 points in the fourth quarter.  He has scored 20+ points in five of the past eight games and 17 times overall this season after doing so 10 times in 2011-12.  Over the past eight games, Holiday is averaging 23.8 points on 49.4% shooting.

• Lavoy Allen had a season-high tying 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting off the bench tonight.  Over the past four games, he scored a total of 9 points on 4-of-12 shooting.  It is just the second time Allen has reached double-digits over the past 12 games.

• Nick Young started his third straight game and had 18 points against his former team.  Over the past four games, he is averaging 17.8 points while shooting 10-of-22 from 3-point range.  Young is also averaging 3.0 assists over the past four games and has 4 steals with 4 turnovers.

• Spencer Hawes made his third straight start after coming off the bench the first 42 games of the season and had 12 points with 11 rebounds, marking his sixth double-double.  In his previous two starts, Hawes had a total of 12 points with 9 rebounds.  Hawes also had 4 assists with 4 blocks tonight and is averaging 2.6 assists and 1.93 blocks in the 14 games this month.

• Philly won despite shooting 6-of-10 from the line while Washington shot 17-of-21.  Over the past 24 games, the Sixers are averaging 14.6 FTA, down from 19.5 per the first 21 games of the season.  Opponents have recorded as many or more FTM as Philly has had FTA in 26 of the 45 games this season.

• The Sixers recorded 27 assists tonight.  Philly has recorded 25+ assists in seven of the past eight games after doing so eight times the first 37 games of the season.  The Sixers are averaging 25.8 apg over the past eight games (Holiday 9.5 apg).
