Can score from anywhere on the floor and has been one of the NCAA's best scorers since his freshman season in Bethlehem (PA) – averaged 19.1 points that season, 21.8 as a sophomore, 21.9 as a junior, and 23.9 through 12 games as a senior, before breaking a bone in his left foot… Is a very good rebounder for his position, averaging 6.3 rebounds per game in his four-year career… Possesses solid size, standing 6'3", with a 6'6.25" wingspan, and weighing just under 200 pounds… Quick hands on the defensive end, notching 2.6 steals per game over his sophomore and junior seasons combined… Great at drawing contact in the lane, as he averaged 6.7 free-throw attempts per game in his college career and is a 82.0% shooter from the line… Is considered one of the most mature prospects in this year's draft.
Missed his team's final 19 games in 2012-13 due to a broken fifth metatarsal in his left foot, but is expected to make a full recovery… Despite impressive performances against Duke (scoring 30 points in a first-round upset in the 2012 NCAA Tournament) and Baylor (36 points a 2012-13 season-opening road loss), McCollum has generally not been challenged in and outside of conference play. Although this did not hamper Damian Lillard (Weber State), who was selected with the sixth-overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft… Is just "ok" on the defensive end, despite his ability to deflect passes and create turnovers; not a great on-ball defender.
