PHILADELPHIA, PA. – APRIL 27, 2013 – The Delaware 87ers, D-League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, today announced that the team has named veteran sports industry executive Aaron Moszer as its Team President, effective immediately. Moszer was most recently the Assistant Vice President of Sales/Marketing for Ripken Baseball Inc., and brings more than 15 years of minor-league team, business-wide management experience to the Sevens.

“Aaron Moszer brings a wealth of sports industry knowledge to the Delaware 87ers, particularly in the successful start-up of a minor-league team as an instrumental part of the Aberdeen IronBirds’ inaugural season,” said Sixers CEO and Co-Owner Adam Aron. “With a strong track record in sales, corporate partnerships and management, we are confident that he will make the Sevens a household name in Delaware and the surrounding area.”

“I’m excited for the challenges and opportunities this new role will bring, and know I’m well-equipped for the task,” said Moszer. “With more than 15 years of experience in minor-league baseball, I know what it takes to integrate a new team into a community for the betterment of both, and will lead this team to success. And as a former intercollegiate basketball player myself, I have to add how excited I am personally to enter the world of professional basketball. ”

Moszer has spent the last 11 years at Ripken Baseball Inc., the past three-plus as the Assistant Vice President of Sales/Marketing for the corporation. In that role, he was responsible for several Ripken owned minor league baseball teams, along with their ticket and corporate sponsorship sales, facilities management, youth camps and tournaments, and retail, among other lines of business.

During his tenure with Ripken Baseball, Moszer also served directly as the General Manager of the Aberdeen IronBirds, the Single-A Affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. There, he oversaw direct ticket sales and corporate sponsorships. Moszer also managed all the daily business operations, team marketing and branding, in-game presentation and the facility for the IronBirds, also serving as a primary team spokesperson and direct contact for the Orioles.

Before joining Ripken Baseball Inc., Moszer was the Vice President of Marketing Services for the Las Vegas 51s, the then Triple-A Affliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers (now New York Mets).

Moszer lives with his wife and family in Maryland.
