Rockets Drop Fifth Straight

Dirk Nowitzki's 35 points doom Rockets as Dallas rallies for 117-110 victory

HOUSTON - The Rockets finally found a way to overcome their third quarter woes. What they had no answer for, however, was an altogether different, and ultimately far more vexing puzzle that left them on the short end of the scoreboard once again.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 21 of his game-high 35 points in the final period as Dallas overcame a second half deficit to defeat Houston 117-110. His heroics were part of a 39-point fourth quarter for the Mavericks, who sent the reeling Rockets to their fifth consecutive loss, further dampening the team抯 playoff hopes which are now officially on life support.
