Rockets hold 'Play Day' for season tickets holders
Season ticket holders have a chance to mingle with Rockets
HOUSTON -- Before making a run at franchise history by adding to their impressive winning streak, the Rockets hosted season ticket holders for the team's annual "Play Day."
The event, which was held March 3 at Toyota Center, offered the Rockets an opportunity to thank their season ticket holders for supporting the team over the course of the 2007-08 season.
During Play Day, season ticket holders had a chance to mingle with their favorite players and participate in activities throughout the arena.
"In its seventh season, Play Day continues to be the most popular of all the events and programs that we offer for our season ticket holders," said Zee French, Rockets director of ticket and premium services. "The interactions that happen with players on this day create memories that stay with our season ticket holders forever."
Besides having an opportunity to shoot baskets on Toyota Center's hardwood, the fans could talk basketball with Tracy McGrady or play ping-pong with Shane Battier. Several Rockets attended the event to interact with fans.
The venue was also filled with arcade games and inflatable moon walks for the Rockets' younger fans.
The Rockets received positive feedback from season ticket holders who attended the event.
"My husband shook hands and spoke strategy to Shane Battier, who never seemed bothered by his fans," Mr. and Mrs. Michael Brown wrote in a letter to the Houston Chronicle. "Luis Scola, Dikembe Mutombo, Tracy McGrady and Rafer Alston all shook our hands and were real people, genuinely in love with their sport, team and fans. My husband and I agreed on our two-hour drive back to Beaumont that it was the best night with the Houston Rockets, and we didn't even see a game."
