RPD rookie Brittany visits with Rockets.com

Age: 19
Hometown: Houston
Occupation: Student
School: Houston Baptist University
Major: Nursing
Seasons as RPD: First!

Rockets.com: Why did you become a Rockets Power Dancer?
Brittany: I have been dancing since I was little and I love it! My college doesn't have a dance team so I decided to try to take it to the professional level. I grew up in Houston and have always loved the Rockets so I figured it would be a perfect fit!

Rockets.com: What's the hard part about being a rookie?
Brittany: It is hard work to be on a professional team, but every minute is worth it to me because I am doing something I love!

Rockets:com: What has been your favorite moment, so far, as a Rockets Power Dancer?
Opening my "Congratulations" letter during final auditions was really exciting! I was so happy to be a part of a wonderful team and to make my family really proud.

Rockets.com: How close is the team?
Brittany: We are all close ... everyone gets along really well and I am glad that I got to make so many new friends.

Rockets.com: Since you're a dunking dancer, are you looking forward to dunking in a game?
Brittany: Yes! I am very excited to dunk, but I am also a little nervous.

Rockets.com: What is one misconception about being a Rockets Power Dancer?
Brittany: People might not realize the time and effort that goes into perfecting every routine. A lot of hard work is put into each game by every team member and the coaches as well.

Rockets.com: Besides being a RPD, what do you do for a living?
Brittany: I am a full-time student at Houston Baptist University where I am pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and then a Master's. I'm a member of Phi Mu and Kappa Alpha Belles. I also work part-time at Abercrombie & Fitch.

Rockets.com: Are people surprised at school that you're a RPD?
Brittany: People at school are really surprised when they find out. So are my teachers. They are all really excited for me.

Rockets.com: What is your typical day like during the season?
Brittany: I go to school every day and usually I have a small break before going to practice. I love to take naps when I can because I stay up late after practice to study.

Rockets.com: What are you looking forward to seeing this season?
Brittany: I think it will be a very exciting season and I look forward to every game!

Rockets.com: What do you do in your free time, if you have any?
Brittany: Spend time with my family! They are the most important people to me. I love going shopping with my mom! I also have three adorable chihuahuas.

Rockets.com: Do you have a favorite activity?
Brittany: Dancing and shopping!

Rockets.com: What is your favorite sports team?
Brittany: The Rockets! My second favorite is the Astros.

Rockets.com: What is the greatest movie ever?
Brittany: Ace Ventura or Anchorman. I have seen them both a million times, but they still make me laugh every time.

Rockets.com: Who is your favorite Rockets player?
Brittany: Steve Novak.

Rocket.com: Do you have an interesting fact about yourself that few people know?
Brittany: Some people tend to have a misconception about blondes. I am actually a very hardworking student.

Rockets.com: If you could have dinner with anyone on the planet, who would it be and why?
Brittany: Jim Carrey or Will Ferrell because they are probably the funniest men on the planet. It would be a pretty interesting dinner!

Rockets.com: Where do you want to travel and why?
Brittany: I would love to travel throughout Europe and visit some family that I have there.

Rockets.com: What do you expect to be doing 10 years from now?
Brittany: I hope to be working as a Nurse Anesthetist and be married with a family of my own.
