New service makes managing, transferring and selling tickets easier than ever

HOUSTON - Ron Artest and Brent Barry aren’t the only big name additions to the Rockets’ 2008-09 line-up. This season, the Rockets and Toyota Center are launching Flash Seats to revolutionize the way fans manage, transfer and sell tickets to the big games, as well as how they enter those sporting events.

For season ticket holders that choose Flash Seats, paper tickets essentially become obsolete; now the only thing required to get in the door is a valid form of ID. But the benefits of Flash Seats extend far beyond mere game-day convenience. That’s because Flash Seats now serves as the Houston Rockets’ officially-endorsed secondary ticket marketplace.

Rockets Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer Chris Dacey explains.

“It’s really a win-win for all our customers,” says Dacey. “It will help our season ticket holders get into Toyota Center faster, transfer tickets electronically and list for sale any seats that potentially may not be utilized. Our entire fan base will then be able to check out to see what might be available…even for the sold out games."

For season ticket holders, Flash Seats is a slam dunk solution.

“Season ticket holders have always wanted a way to more effectively manage their book of tickets,” says Dacey. “So we’re saying: A.) You can get in the door quicker – you don’t have to worry about finding the paper tickets in your desk drawer; you just come in and swipe your credit card or drivers license and you’re in. B.) It lets you know who’s using your tickets. So if you’re a season ticket holder and you’ve got 41 tickets and they get bounced around the office, you will understand how those tickets are being used, when they were used and who actually came to the game. It helps our customers better manage their inventory.

“And if you don’t come to every game, you don’t have to worry about paying a broker a service charge for listing your tickets, because season ticket holders can list their Flash Seats on the marketplace for free.

“Also, right up until five minutes after game time, you can use a computer, cell phone or PDA to instantly transfer those tickets to a friend, family member or anyone else who is signed up with a flash seats account so they can attend the game.”
