The Fertitta Family
The Fertitta family has created The Fertitta Entertainment/Employee Relief Fund and launched it with $1 million in seed money. All Landry’s employees impacted by the COVID-19 crisis can apply for assistance.
“Our employees are our most important resource,” Tilman Fertitta said in a statement. “COVID-19 has taken a particularly harsh toll on all aspects of the hospitality industry where we are heavily invested. It is our hope this fund will provide some much-needed relief for our valued employees.”
This is the second helpful step taken by the Fertitta family, which early on in the shutdown opened the former Willie G’s on Post Oak Boulevard to serve a free meal daily to employees and their families. Of the 10,000 employees in Houston and Galveston, between 1,500 and 2,000 are fed each day from the larder that includes shrimp or chicken, pasta, salad, hamburgers, fries and more. By mid-April, the team had provided more than 34,000 meals.

Diageo is also pledging more than 8 million bottles of santizer for frontline healthcare workers.
ExxonMobil Provides Support for Hunger Relief & More
ExxonMobil announced several donations to help with the impacts of COVID-19, including funds to support remote education and hunger relief. They've also boosted production of raw materials for medical masks, gowns, and hand sanitizer.
Frost Secures $3B in PPP Funding and Donates $2M to Texas Nonprofits
Frost secured more than $3 billion in funding for more than 10,500 Texas small businesses to assist workers during COVID-19, and they donated $2 million to Texas nonprofits to assist in pandemic response and relief.

Jack Daniel's is teaming with parent company Brown-Forman to donate $1M to those affected by COVID-19. They are also donating to USBG Houston to help get meals to service industry members in need, as well as producing hand sanitizer due to shortage.
Karbach Pledges Support to the Southern Smoke Foundation
Karbach Brewing Co. has announced a new commitment to support a charity that is in turn helping members of the hospitality industry — many of whom are out of work due to the COVID-19 situation. The brewing company will be supporting chef Chris Shepherd’s Southern Smoke Foundation through its sales of its beers Love Street and a forthcoming pilsner. Toyota Launches Nationwide Support Effort
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Toyota continues to assist those in need with essential supplies, emergency relief and is providing on-going support to many local organizations and non-profits. These efforts include monetary, “in-kind” donations, plus utilizing several of the company’s North American facilities to fabricate face shields while collaborating with medical device companies to speed the manufacture of ventilators, respirators and other vital devices for hospitals.
