The evening of the NBA Draft was a little tense for Chris Jefferies. The first round was almost over and he hadn't heard his name. Then he was picked by the Lakers but ended up in Toronto. What did all mean to the young man? Read his draft night diary to find out.

The newest Raptors landed in Toronto in the day following the draft. Rookie Chris Jefferies was introduced Friday morning after flying in from California while veteran guard Lindsey Hunter made his introduction Thursday afternoon just hours after a trade brought both to Toronto.

Both Vince Cater and Tracy McGrady are former first-round picks.

The Raptors had needs heading into the NBA draft and they addressed them all in one fell swoop by acquiring Lindsey Hunter and the draft rights to Chris Jefferies from the Lakers for Tracy Murray and the draft rights to Kareem Rush. The teams also agreed to exchange second-round picks in a future draft.
