With barely anytime to enjoy their 93-73 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers last night, the Raptors were boarding a plane en route to San Jose to face the defending NBA Champion Golden State Warriors for Game 2 of the preseason.
Toronto (1-0) is coming off a comfortable 20 point win over the Clippers last night in their preseason opener. The much talked about Raptors defence held L.A to three sub 20 point quarters while Kyle Lowry paced their offence by putting up a game high 26 points in 21 minutes of game time.
Golden State (0-0) haven’t played a game yet this preseason however they are the defending NBA champions and the last game they did play resulted in them lifting the Larry O’Brien trophy after eliminating the Cleveland Cavaliers in six games of the NBA finals.
Not only are Golden State the defending NBA champs, they also boast the 2014-2015 NBA MVP in Stephen Curry. Curry boasted averages of 23pts, 7reb & 4ast last season and has been a thorn in the Raptors side whenever the two teams have played. Curry’s battery mate is Klay Thompson who also put up impressive numbers last season (21pts, 3reb, 3ast) and the two guards remain the focal point of an impressive Warriors offence.
It’s very early, one game to be exact, but Coach Casey has to be pleased with his teams effort on the defensive end last night against the high flying Los Angeles Clippers. The new look Raptors defence held L.A to 73 total points and forced them to turnover the ball 24 times.
Terrence Ross in particular was very active on the defensive end, racking up 4 steals and adding a block.
Speaking of blocks, new Raptor Bismack Biyombo, who was signed to help anchor the Raptors defence, made his presence felt early on in yesterday’s game…

Expect Coach Casey to spread out the minutes in game 2 of a back to back as the Raptors look to improve to 2-0 tonight.
