Andre Tyler Iguodala was born Jan. 28, 1984 in Springfield, Illinois. His hobbies include video games, reading and golf. His brother, Frank, played basketball at Lake Land College in Illinois and the University of Dayton. Andre was named AAU national tournament Most Valuable Player in the summer of 2001, and he also earned three letters in track and field during high school. In July of 2016, Igoudala led the inaugural NBPA Tech Summit in San Francisco. He has been a part of numerous charity events and causes, including visiting Oakland Children's Hospital, hosting a movie night for youth from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland and hosting Andre's Book Drive, which fueled the donation of more than 2,600 new children's books to Philadelphia READS. Also, to help raise money to assist tornado victims in his hometown, Iguodala created the Andre Iguodala Disaster Relief Fun in March 2006. He is on Twitter @andre. The Springfield, Illinois native was named to the 2003-04 All-Pac 10 First Team. In addition, Iguodala garnered a nod on the 2002-03 Pac-10 All-Freshman squad. He was second in the Pac-10 in total assists (147) for the 2003-04 season. Iguodala was also third in assists (4.9) and fourth in rebounds (8.4) per game in the Pac-10 in the 2003-04 campaign. The forward led Arizona in rebounds, assists and steals per game (1.6) as a sophomore. Iguodala entered the 2004 NBA Draft after his sophomore season at Arizona. He was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round (ninth overall) of the draft.
