Tari Eason was the 17th overall pick by Houston in the 2022 NBA Draft… entering 2024-25, he appeared in a total of 104 gams with five starts while averaging 9.4 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 1.1 apg and 1.2 spg… Eason earned NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors in 2022-23… he enters 2024-25 as the second player (Antoine Walker) to have his totals of points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks and 3-pointers made through the first 104 games of a career.
Eason was an early entry candidate for the 2022 NBA Draft following his sophomore season at Louisiana State… he spent his freshman season at Cincinnati… Eason increased his scoring average from 7.3 ppg (46.2% FGs, 24.1% 3FGs, 57.4% FTs) as a freshman to 16.9 ppg (52.1% FGs, 35.9% 3FGs, 80.3% FTs) as a sophomore… he became the first player in SEC history to be named Sixth Man of the Year while also earning All-SEC First Team… Eason also earned AP Honorable Mention All-American honors in his final season.
Eason’s mother is Teroya Eason... he has three brothers: Tega, Angel, Avante… Eason attended Garfield High School in Seattle as a freshman and sophomore... he transferred to Federal Way High School his junior season before returning to Garfield as a senior... Eason was coached by former NBA All-Star Brandon Roy at Garfield… he had 21 points and 14 rebounds to help Garfield win the 3A Washington State championship as a senior, defeating O'Dea High School and Paolo Banchero.
