Nathan Knight was born Sep. 20, 1997. He grew up in Syracuse, New York and went to Nottingham High School, where he was originally a pitcher on the baseball team. However, after a growth spurt, he decided to focus on basketball. As a senior, he averaged 14.1 points and 7.4 rebounds, being named All-Central New York. He also completed a postgraduate year at Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, New Hampshire. Knight also played in AAU, suiting up for Gym Ratz. For college, he opted to attend William & Mary, where he earned a degree in business analytics. He played four seasons at William & Mary. After the close if his senior campaign in 2019-20, Knight was awarded the Lou Henson Award (Mid-Major Player of the Year). After that, he declared for the 2020 NBA Draft. As a freshman, he averaged 8.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.1 assists and was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team. He became a full-time starter the following season, averaging 18.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.0 blocks on his way to being named to his first of three CAA All-Defensive Teams. As a junior, he averaged 21.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.3 blocks. That resulted in him being named to the All-CAA First Team. Finally, as a senior, Knight averaged 20.7 points, 10.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.5 blocks. After the season, he was given the Lou Henson Award for Mid-Major Player of the Year.
