Robert Woodard II was born Sep. 22, 1999 in Starkville, Mississippi. His father, also named Robert Woodard, left high school as the Mississippi all-time leading scorer in boys basketball with 4,274 points and went on to play at Mississippi State. Woodard II was a four-star recruit and two-time Gatorade Player of the Year coming out of high school and was ranked No. 46 among the ESPN Top 100. He won two 6A state titles at Columbus High School (in Mississippi) where he averaged 18.0 points and 9.7 rebounds as a senior and 25.2 points, 13.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 3.0 blocks as a junior. Woodard also won a gold medal in 2015 with the U16 Americas Championship team. He went to Mississippi State for college and averaged 11.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 steals as a sophomore. He also studied business administration.
