Player Bio

Killian Tillie was born on March 5, 1998 in Paris, France. The son of Laurent Tillie and Caroline Keulen-Tillie, both of Killian's parents were professional volleyball players. Killian has two brothers: Kim, a professional basketball player; and Kevin, a professional volleyball player. Tillie played basketball and volleyball until the age of 14, when he began to focus exclusively on the former. Hayes joined the youth academy of Olympique d'Antibes in 2013 and later joined the INSEP academy. Tillie also appeared for the French U16 National Team in the 2014 FIBA Championships, averaging 14.3 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game en route to MVP honors. In 2015, Tillie competed in the FIBA U18 Championships, helping lead France to an 8-1 record and a third-place finish. A Gonzaga, Hayes made his presence known as a freshman, appearing in 33 games and averaging 4.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in 12.3 minutes. In the NCAA Championship Game, Hayes grabbed nine rebounds in the Bulldogs' narrow loss to North Carolina. As a sophomore, Hayes emerged as Gonzaga's second-leading scorer, putting up 12.9 points per game to go with 5.9 rebounds and 1.0 block. Hayes missed significant time as a junior due to a stress fracture in his ankle. Also missing time to begin his senior season due to a knee injury, Hayes debuted with 15 points and eight boards in a win over UT-Arlington on November 19. Hayes was a First Team All-WCC selection as a senior, posting 13.6 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest.
